Inner tie rods are not a pain in the butt, but if you have never done any kind of mech work it will be a night mare. If you have its as simple as just undoing the outter tie rod, marking where it was, or counting the threads and take it off. Then you will and I repeat will need a inner tie rod removal tool, preferably the tube type tool. Not sure if you can get them at advance or auto zone but with that you will be able to remove it and then install it. Not very hard, but with the right tools shouldn't take more then an hour or 2 depending on your level of experience.
