Stock LX Radius Rod Bushing Video 11/15/08

These videos i took with my camera when we had a Magnum in the shop, The first video is with the car on the alignment rack, and as i'm videoing the right front Radius Rod Bushing from under the car, I have my tech turning the wheel back and forth.

You can see in the video the Radius Rod bushing are just pulling apart, I would like to get everyone a video of them under heavy braking, but it will cost a good amount of money to have a setup capable of doing this reliably.

Raw Video,

This next video is taken with the car lifted up in the air on a twin post lift, and the wheels off. I then have my tech move the wheels left to right while i film it.
This is video of the left front Radius Rod Bushing taken from the left front wheel well.

Many of you have remarked that one of our previous videos wasn't accurate because the movement was not in the correct direction. The videos that i've taken here will show you that it actually was pertinent to the LX driving conditions, as it moves very similar,

Those are great videos. My tension strut bushings looked similar before they were replaced.

What is the best way to see if the other bushings are bad, such as the upper and lower control arm, without taking the part off the car?
The tension strut is easy to see.

Also, what about the rear bushings?

The attached pics are my rear camber links, which look bad. I also have some creaking noises from the left rear, as shown in this video.

Maybe a better question - How does Pedders inspect all the bushings?

It does look like that bushing is ripped,

We inspect all of the bushings with our eye's and pry bars, the pry bars allow us to move it and see play, rips, and other problems.

The upper control arm bushings in the front are best checked with the sheels off, but the suspension loaded (jack under the lower arm) and using a pry bar to check for movement and such.

Do you know if there is a Pedders dealer near you?

Do mean shell instead of sheels? Is the shell shown in this pic?

There is a Chevy dealer in Fairfield that is supposed to be a Pedders dealer.
But I didn't have a great experience with them, and the Pedders trained tech had quit a few days before my bumpsteer install. I don't know if they found or trained a new Pedders tech.

I currently do. I live in Livermore. We have done installs as low as 600 miles to as high as 80K plus.

What are you interested in?
