So I just got my tax return money from Uncle Sam. I'm getting ready to purchase the Eibach Pro-System, which includes 1.6" lowering springs and lowering shocks and struts. I'm going to roll the fenders before installing the kit. I have heard mixed opinions, but how long should I allow the suspension to settle before having it aligned? Can I just take the car to a shop to have the alignment and camber adjusted or do I need to purchase an alignment kit?
how are they gonna do the camber?theres no adjustment, not like the good ole days

How bad will the camber be off with a 1.6" drop? Is it a necessity that I get it done? I thought I would include a pic of what it looks like before I drop it. I have some other stuffed planned for the car as well, still a work in progress.
Well, the jury is out here on the forum about when/if to do camber. I would suggest if you have the cash, just do it up front if you are able. A 1.6 drop won't scour off your wheels anytime soon, but over 10,000 miles will be noticeable. Some will say do it always, some will say do it never. I say do it if you can afford it, since it will handle a bit better and not shorten the life of the tires as much as not doing it.
Thanks for the advice cueball. I plan on installing the lowering kit myself. How difficult is the camber kit to install? I'm guessing I would install the camber kit myself and then take it to the shop to have them adjust the alignment and camber, or do you just install the camber kit and no adjustment is needed?
Camber kits aren't hard. But a disclaimer: I didn't do mine, but they look easy. The rear is basically a replacement end link, the front a replacement upper control arm. At least the SPC variety is... I think that Pedders has an offset bushing for the front...
I know they come in two size ranges.... need to get the correct one.
Other folks here can add their 1st hand install knowledge. I have been out of the country for 75% of my cars life and just haven't had time/motivation to do my own work. Almost four years of ownership and the car has 24k miles.. and its a daily driver. LOL
