thunk or knock from front of vehicle

Well I finally registered to become a member here. Just got my 300C in Auguest and I love it. I'm definately buying another one. Rigyht now I have my car up to 108k miles. Recently there is a thunk or knock whenever I hit some sort of bump on the road. I think its the sway bar bushings but I am unsure. Also, when i am braking and am near to stopping(roughly 5 mph or less) my front end also makes a noise where it sounds as if the brake pads are slipping on the rotor. But if I brake hard and stop quickly there is no noise. Only on regualr and slow stopping does the nosie occur. The brake pads arent wore out yet so I'm not sure what the noise is. Any suggestions?

I wish someone had a answer for you. Most of us have the same sound in the front end.I just replaced all my tire rods and strut tension bars....i think thats what they are called and still have the front end noise. No one yet found out how to stop the noise.Going to bring my car back soon to the shop and see whats going on with it.

it doesnt bother me except for the fact that my car now sounds like its from 1995 instead of 2005. when people ride with me or see me pull up the entire point of having the car is them thinking it is baller. a clunk/thunk/knock or whatver you want to call it plus the noise that comes when applying the breaks happens nobody thinks its a nice car anymore. plus i dont really like the idea that it could break down and i need a tow truck to take me home

Have you tried bedding your brakes?.....Instructions for bedding in your brakes

That might help for regular and slow stopping....

when i got my car there was no noise from braking. it was when i reached the 103k mile mark that it began making the noise. I'm wondering if it is actually the sway bar bushings that need to be replaced and by braking they are actually making the noise. Once I get the sway bar bushings fixed I will give an update. On that note I went to a Car Quest aut o parts store to try and pick up the bushings but they cant get them. Where can I pick up these parts except for the stealership? Also, does anybody know how difficult it is to change the sway bar bushings? It was simple on my dads F150 but this car is not an F150 and I dont want to start something I will struggle to finish.

The sway bar bushings are real easy.
Here are instructions on how to install hotchkis swaybars and bushings.
The instructions are the same for the stock bushings.
