So took the car to the stealership... I stated that the noise was coming from the driver side like a strut mount or something that would sound like that.. they call me back saying that it is the inner and outer tie rods on the passenger side... ok I have rode in the passenger side and I i can tell that it is coming from the driver side.. they said they looked over everything and couldnt find anything at all wrong with the driver side... TIMMY C what is your number Lets see if we can locate this whenever you are open to help me... has anyone had a problem where you can for sure know that it is coming from one side but the fix is on the other side... really starting to PISS ME OFF

I have yet to hear the bushing side of a torque strut make noise. the ball joint side will sing though. Just because you replaced the bushing you could still need an arm.

Hey troops , I had that same noise like a clunking noise as io rolled over progressive bumps , Not a bang but an anoying clunk as if something was knocking off the frame. I changed Links, and bushings, brake hardware and was about to start on the struts, BUT talked to a parts guy at a dealership in my town He reccomended i change ,( Now i dont know the name of it But it hooks in to the bottom of the strut and goes Forward towards the front frame of the car.) Heavy piece of metal, with a ball joint on the end. You have to buy the Nylock nut with it to complete the job.
My mechanic and i replaced it and VIOLA no more noise.
Hope this helps.
If you email me at vs1400glintruder@hotmail.com with the subject 300 Clunk i will get the name of the part so you can source it.

when I say clunk I think that might be wrong... more like a slow rattle like the strut is loose and rattling arounf but it is secure...

yes i know what you mean clunk rattle bang , a noise by any other name is still a noise. As i said i was about to get the struts replaced when i was told about this part . changed it and now when i roll over bumps all i hear is the normal tire noise, unless it is a big one then i hear other things , But the rattle , clunk, bang is gone . The joint it's self was weak, and it rattled in it's socket, there fore reverborating through the rod into the frame. parts cost me 180.00 canadian for them. mechanic had them on in less that 20 mins.
