Bad Tension Struts is an easy visual diagnosis.

Take the wheel off and you can see the condition of the bushing.

Another simple test is to disconnect/unbolt a sway bar endlink from the sway bar.
A loose/bad sway bar endlink will cause a lot of clunking.

It is interesting the number of strut bushing issues we have seen at Pedders and now the community on its own. Perte and I just finished installing a Xa Police Persuit Package in a Sherrifs Charger this week and what a difference. This vehicle is driven hard and has a lot of territory to cover. They have been thru 3 sets of tension rods and when we removed them to install our Pedders bushings, the ball joint and bushings were bad on the right front.

We will be making a special post about this install soon. But the bushing had what looked like a small line in it. But when you turn the tire, and stresses and twists the bushing, the small line turned into a big tear that went all the way thru. This police Charger already had Chrysler's HD bushings already. So 25-30K they are torn, and bad with their aggressive driving.
I write this because the bushing can be seriously worse than it looks.
