Newbie question about DIY alignment issue...

Is it possible to 'nudge' or to make tiny adjustments to the alignment, and then drive the car and see if the alignment has been improved at all?

For example, my 2005 300c is mostly fine, except the steering wheel appears to be cocked to the left a little. So if you hold the steering wheel exactly straight, the car will veer to the right a little.

Is there any way to try adjusting for that myself, or is it just to involved, and I need to have it aligned?

I am a newbie when it comes to this, I just have regular house hold tools, I am in no way a mechanic.

Thanks in advance.

If the steering wheel has been cocked since new someone has been ignoring the obvious for a long time. Which is entirely possible. It is also possible that some component of the frontend is deteriorating, or has been bent by something like a pothole, and needs to be replaced.
The position of the steering wheel is controlled by adjusting the "toe" of the front wheels by lengthening/shortening the tierods with at the outer end fittings.
To bring the car back to a straight line when the steering wheel is straight the left tie rod needs to be lengthened while the right tie rod needs to be shortened. The tie rod end fittings are located just inboard of the front wheels, forward and below the center of the wheels. They can be accessed without raising the car off the ground, but raising and supporting the front end will allow much easier access.
The adjustments can be made with one wrench and a vise grip pliers: first the pliers to hold the end fitting and then the wrench to loosen/tighten the jamnut, and then the pliers again to turn the tie rod once the jamnut is loosened. The right tie rod needs to be turned into the end fitting to shorten the overall length of the tie rod, while the left tie rod needs to be turned out of the end fitting to lengthen the overall length of the tie rod. In order to keep the overall relationship of the front wheels unaltered each tie rod needs to be lengthened/shortened equally. This is done by turning the rods equally, like 1/4 turn each. After lengthening/shortening each, tighten the jam nuts against the end fittings and go for a test drive to check the coorection. Readjust the tie rods in 1/4 or less turn increments as may be required until the sterring wheel is straight.
If you are not comfortable with doing the adjustments yourself, take it to a pro.
