The title of this thread is "eibach v Pedders". There are lots of differences between our Pedders product and Eibach. Lets be specific: Ride quality is a big one. Our Pedders coils use more usuable coils than Eibachs. This gives Pedders coils a longer life, more comfort, better support. We have replaced many Eibach sets with Pedders due to ride qualitiy issues on the LX platform.
I am not sure what the annual sales are of Eibach but Pedders is over $125,000,000 a year. We are no babes in the woods. So with that in mind, lets compare Eibach with some of the other products we have here in the USA.
1. GTO, Eibach is I think the cheapest of the coils out there. However, you get what you pay for. The rear coils use 1 active coil, After a year or so, the coils begin to deflect and change. Throw a couple of buddies in the back seat, and you are driving off on the bump stops. Hit a bump and you will get a sizeable jolt.
2. GM900 Utilities (Tahoe, Denali, Escalade, etc) Again, a lot less usuable coils. But the big issue is consistancy in ride heights with the fronts with over 3/4 inch variations from coil set to coil set. This is a big deal because of the geometry of the front end and what that does with negative cambers, not to mention ride quality.
3. The new Camaro. GM contacted us because the new show car Camaros 4-5 of them, are having rear springs slide off of their perches, thus creating height issues and noises. This is exactly what you want for a show car that you demo. NOT!! They were given the same electronic engineering notes that we were. Our springs worked!.
Now there are some products out there that Eibach does well with. But for their prices to be so low, they have to cut corners somewhere.
the LX community does appear, in general, to be more into looks than function. But an LX can kick some serious butt with some mods to their suspension. We showed the world in New Jersey that we can take a 300c hemi, and turn a .99g on a 200 foot skid pad. Do some checking. I refer you to the "Benchmark testing thread so you can see where a .99g skid pad testing falls within other serious performance vehicles.
It was totally appropriate to be nice and ask guys to put the 2 vehicles side by side, and look at the differences. I still challenge you to do so, and roadtest the 2 different cars. Unless you have novacain(sorry for the spelling) injectied in you butt, you will be able to feel the difference. Roadtesting our products is the ultimate test.
There is no retarded hating, just telling facts that are duplicatable. Now if I made a thread on this and was not asked to compare differences between the 2, then you would have a point.

Yeah the title states one thing but the actual content is another. It's not whether or not which one is the best. Also I didn't say pedders was small, don't put words in my mouth. I said compare how many brands you deal with and how many they deal with. Meaning pedders speacialize in mopar so yes they would most likely be on a moparish forum endorsing product. Versus someone else doing products in imports/domestics and euros.
There's a lot of things that factor in. I used to sell aftermarket import product. Well I still do time from time. I would advise people to get one piece coilovers or spring and shock set over springs or just coilover sleaves on older cars. But they still got springs. Months later they would come back saying oh this product is wack which ended up being they needed new shocks/struts or they tried to do rally stuff with it or they would comeback and say I need new shocks/struts. My point is the old stock shocks aren't going to be able to handle the extra load.
Again I see that your specialized in mopar blah blah and I'm not saying you don't make a better product. And if I was going to track the ride I would probably roll with you. Ok if I didn't get a fat discount on eibach stuff lol. I wanted a lowered stance and I got it. I wanted a good ride and I got it. I wanted less roll and better handling and I got it.
The maker of this thread was stating he wanted something with a lower height to eliminate fender gap. He wasn't asking for skid pad etc. When you got people who don't have either but they endorse one because there's no rep from the other doing the sales talk that's retarded. Then another one comparing springs to a full one piece coilover system. That's retarded.
Instead of telling other people to find an eibach one and yours then drive it (which you know it's not going to happen but people are going to be like "oh he challenged"). How about you outfit one with eibach and offer an invitational to the people on this forum.
To be honest I'm not concerned about the other rides. I mean that's good for you all and everything. I'm concerned about mine. But I know people that use eibachs on their rides and are very happy with it.
ive read up on one of the other post here on the forums and my shocks are made by sachs...my the shop i went to, took a look at it and said it wasnt the self leveling one. but i read that the shocks made by sach are the self leveling one...any info.
Okay, I'm far from any expert, but what I've read leads me to believe you don't have the Nivomats (self-leveling). I believe they only came on all SRT8s, and with the 300 SRT Design package. I think the '09 Heritage Edition has them also. They're also on Magnums with the tow package, and Charger R/Ts, but not on the standard Cs. I don't think there's been a tow package for the Cs, though a previous owner, if any, could have fitted them. If so, they should have also changed the springs.

We have seen Nivomats n just about every configuration you can think of. O think they run of dampers and use whatever they got. We have seen SRT8s with non Nivomat dampers. So go figure.
Wheat we use to determine if it is a nivomat damper s the width. I belive a nivomat is over 58mm wide

One of the most challenging parts of our jobs is defining comfort. some can feel a pebble that feels lke they are busting a hemmroid, and others tolerate a 1000lb plus coil and think it is fine. This is why we push to have people roadtest one.
If you are happy with the ride if the Eibachs, that is great and that is all that has to be said!
Is there a place in Houston to test a Pedders setup ?
What package was used to generate the .99 g figure ? Was that stock SRT8 tires & wheels ?
Thanks in advance.
Fast Lanes have done a bunch. When I was there, and I forgot his name, a great guy who is part of a LX club there, we did a touring package. He seems very active in that community. When I was there we did 4 LXs I believe.
You can call Anthony to see if he can arrange one of his guys to give you a road test.
The Arrington Engine LX was a Track II, and had stock 20s
Two SRT8's were used in testing, The Charger SRT8 was my wifes. Her car had the OE Rims and Eagle F1 Supercar tires on it, and they were complete crap with 20k on them. I replaced them 2 weeks after the test (New Firestone Firehawk GT's that had come out just after the test) With the new tires i'm sure it would gain .01g at the very least.
I believe the Arrington Engines 300 SRT8 also had OE tires on it. (the other car used.)
Both cars had the Pedders Track 2 system on them.

So how much does the Pedders kits cost. I have an 06 Srt8 300c. Not looking to go crazy just lower it a bit. Planned on getting the stock Bilsteins for the rear. So if just springs would work what ones would i need and how much do they lower the car? Thanks
