I believe the brain fart was in not answering the question that was asked. I asked how much to install coil overs. The reply was a quote for a package that included more than I wanted. That is why I posted the question here on the forum, to get a clear answer.

I apologize about the confusion, I was indeed quoting the labor to install the entire package and not just the coilovers.

Again, my mistake and I apologize for the confusion!

Its extremely easy to install to install coilovers. If you are somewhat mechanically inclined you can swing this in your driveway with hand tools. I would then use my measuring tap to get it all leveled out and then take it to be aligned. Done deal.

Shop charged me 4 hours x $100 per hour. 1 hour per corner.

But there were screw ups and more than 4 hours work.

They damaged the driver side upper control arm seal boot which cost them $175 for the part to replace, and their own time to replace the upper control arm.

The car wasn't level after the install. The rear driver side was too high by about 3/4". They grudgingly fixed it on their dime, sorta. Even after they "fixed it", it was still off by about 3/8"-1/2".

In my case, getting the right height on all four corners was an ordeal.

Make sure who ever does your car is careful to get the right height on each corner the first time, especially on the rear. If the rear heights are screwed up the fix isn't easy like it is for the fronts.

It is not official until Pete announces it, but the intro price for the Xa coil overs will be $1399.99

D*mn, that looks nasty! You know what I hate? Some poor schmuck like me would never know this unless it made a gawdawful noise or drove really weird. Then I'd have to pay to get it fixed later when the same or another shop noticed it or something bad went wrong.

Without naming names, and if you don't mind saying, was this done at an authorized Pedders shop, or did you buy them and take them somewhere on your own? Did they admit the problem and fix it themselves, or did you see/find it and have to get them to redo it? I guess if it was a Pedders shop and they took care of it all on their own, that's okay. Mistakes do happen.

Not a Pedder shop. It was Stevenson's Tire in Fremont Ca.
They are a big shop, but had never done a LX install. I wasn't happy with the job. There were also other problems I didn't mention.

I happen to wander into the garage during the install and noticed the damage. They acted surprised, like they didn't know about it. So it was pretty clear to me they had no intention of telling me.
