problem with UAS front koni's and bag install

Im having problem putting together the front air bag and struts on the mounting plates. My air line fitting does not clear the koni strut base seat where the bracket and bag set.The screw holes are not lining up correctly. If any had this issue, please give me some help with this one. I do not want to tighten the fitting to tight or strip the tread. also does the uas kit come with braided air line for the front? if so I do not have them. I seen other that has uas kit w/braided front air lines.

here are some pics of what I'm talking about.

See in these pictures, it not sitting flush with the bottom for the base of strut.the picture above, the air fitting bolt should be flush with the bracket base, which it sticks up some. Not allowing the air bag not to seat flat on the strut. any help with problem would be helpful, thanks

I run a very similar fitting and mine clears fine. What exactly is holing the bag off of the ring? Its hard to tell from the pix.

FYI antisieze on the bolt heads where it mates against the alum is ESSENTIAL!!!!!!!!!!!! TRUST me!

i had the same problem, i wish i had pics of what i did, but what you should do remove the plate off of the bag and tighten the bolt some more, so when you put back on the plate the hex will be flush with the plate.

well zack told me not to tighten it down flush, it could crack near the treads. when I tried to tighten it to get it flush, I still was off . I just didnt want to take a chance cracking it or stripping the treads. So I just took my die grinder and grind some of the lower perch where the bracket sits so the hex of the air fitting can pass it so it can sit flat on the perch. it worked, now it sit flat on the perch of the strut. I thin koni made the perch ring to big, they need to take it down 1/8 in diameter around the perch. I informed zack about the issue. It also could be that bracket could be a hair off. I was sent bracket after I got my ket, because they were on back order for a few days. So it has to be one off the two.

Im still not picturing your problem. So you are saying the fitting is hitting the ring? Why not use a different fitting?. just be aware that the strut is going to twist a little and that position may not always be in relation to that ground area.

that's the only fitting they use for the kit. here are pictures of what I did to make it work.

now it sits flush, still had a little room to move left to right.

so the real problem is the air fitting they use on the kit. The older kit they used an air hose or braided line off the bag which clears fine. But now they use a air fitting that has a large hex to tighten which hits the perch that does not allow the fitting to pass. So if you order the koni and the kit your going to have to notch out some of the perch to be able to use the fitting. or order the rubber hose which is smaller hex size to pass. then connect at the end of the hose. If your using oem, you already have to cut anyways, does not effect those guys. I hope they can come up with a fitting that has a little smaller hex. anyone else on here had to do this mod yet or who ever installed your kit, did they have to do it?

Both my buddy and I have installed our kits with the braided line, so neither of us had to cut the Koni's. I would've picked up the braided line as opposed to cutting the strut, but I understand wanting to get things done as soon as possible.

well zack just call me a few minutes ago to confirm the same problem when he tested the struts at the shop. He said the same thing that I was see with mine, the hex on the fitting is to large to pass the perch of the strut. So what he's going to do is send me out a 45 degree air fitting and the rubber hoses to fix the problem. a little to late, since I already grind down the perch of the strut. lol. Also some of you guy that have the kit w/ koni's used different air fitting and the rubber or braided hoses when ordering your kit. That why you never had the problem. with mine, it just a straight air fitting. into the bag. Even some guys had 3/8" air lines instead of the 1/2" which makes a big difference. So if anyone get this kit, make sure you get the 45 angles air fitting in the bag and the rubber air hose for movement.

I am using a 1/2" tube to 1/4" NPT fitting from Alkon I believe. I didn't get the kit directly from UAS but through my distributor. I can get a shot of it tomorrow. It fit perfect...tight but it went right in.
