Spindles with lower ball joint?

I did a search on replacing these and most said there was no way to get around replacing them if you need that lower ball joint. Has any replacement aftermarket companies come out with a ball joint yet for this problem. I have a ripped boot on one side and figured I would change both of them while I had the car apart but not at almost $800 a side for the complete assembly

Thanks ALOT Bernie. This site is great and you just saved me alot of cash! I just got one in and it is exactly the same except now it is greasable, pretty cheap too. With my discount through NAPA the ball joint cost $114.83 a side.

Here are a few pictures of the Moog K7469

Question . . . does this part fit at the end of the lower control arm or at the end of the tension strut? They both have what look like ball joints to me. The one at the end of my l. control arm appears to be torn.

Whitec, have you noticed any difference in your ride with this ball joint ripped? Trying to see if this may be what's causing a steering issue I have.

The ball joint is pressed into the knuckle and is bolted to the lower control arm.
The tension strut ball joint is part of the tension strut arm.
The ball joint has to be removed from the knuckle. Attached are the Service Manual instructions.

My seal boot had a tear and my dealer replaced the entire knuckle. I don't think any dealers follow the Service Manual and replace the ball joint. They just replace the entire knuckle which includes the ball joint.

I haven't noticed a ride difference because I replaced them on a car that was in an accident that I had never driven before.
