Talking EasyStreet Air Ride Came In...WOW! (Progress Thread)

Check out what was delivered today! First thing I want to say is WOW! From top to bottom this is the best quality kit I've seen. I've installed air on a couple of my friends cars, and a few kits on my Cavalier as well.

The last kit I installed was my Cavalier's EasyStreet kit, and I was won over by the quality of their parts. It far exceeded any kit I'd seen. So without hesitation when I got the money to lay out the 300, I called up Jeremy and Corey at EasyStreet (AirLift) even tho I've read so many good things about UAS.

Check out the pics, everything came completely wired, even pre-wired manifold valves, this kit is nearly plug and play. haha. This will be one clean install in a about a week. I'm going to be posting tons of pics of the install, maybe ppl can use this as a DIY?

HERE THEY ARE!!!

Here is the whole kit after I got everything unboxed! Took forever, haha.

Another shot of the kit. These bag brackets are BUILT!

The 5 gallon tank, nothing special.

Here's a close up of the front strut.

And another....

Rear bag. Double convoluted bags all around!!

I upgraded to dual Viair 480C compressors, instead of the 380C to save a lot of time.

The best part, the AutoPilot Digital Ride Height Controller. This thing came wired as seen below. Its almost completely plug and play. Allows for a programmed ride height, and has complete independent control as well.

Don't hate for not going with UAS! It was a tough choice, but my past experiences with EasyStreet made it really easy.

I can't wait to start hooking this system up! I'm going to start stripping and fatmatting my trunk tonight! Stay tuned!! And one last thing.....

!!!GET ON MY LEVEL!!!......

First Step....FatMat! I got 50 feet of this stuff. Should be plenty for the trunk, and some of the interior. I might do that down the road. Here are some progress pics. We got about 2/3 of the way done before it started raining. Sorry for the crappy pics, took them with my cell phone. I'll take better ones tomorrow when I finish!

I stripped the trunk and cleaned it down with acetone. Then started laying it down. This stuff is STICKY!!!

Another Angle

This is the last pic I took before it started raining. I finish the spare tire well too.

Sound deadening takes a lot longer than I expected! Let me know your thoughts!!

First off, thanks for following! The upgraded kit with the AutoPilot digital ride height controller costs about 2,800 on their site. The standard kit is about 2,600 I think. Both of those come with a Viair 380C. The upgraded kit also comes with manifold valves that are prewired. Not sure about the lower kit. To upgrade mine with two Viair 480s was about $200 more.

It supposed to rain today, but I'm going to try to finish the mat in my dark garage!

I wish they ditched the crimped bags. I watched 2 of them blow at a show last weekend.

Grounded,
Are you referring to the metal bands crimped around the top and bottom of the air bag? Are there any kits out there that use anything other than that? The UAS bags have the crimped metal ring around the bag as well.

I rode on EasyStreet bags similar to these for over 2 years on my cavalier with no problems. And I hit some serious potholes too. Hopefully I get the same luck with these.

Keep the comments coming. I finished the FatMat today and will be posting better quality pics soon!

Its not easy street is the only one that had any issues with their bags. One of the guys in my club was driving back from NY to NH and when he was about to pull onto his street about a half mile from his house he had a bag blow @ 120 psi. The crimp failed miserably. Part of the reason they opted to go with the new dominator bags because people were having waaay too many issues with the crimped ones.

Gotcha! I noticed the Slam Specialties kit includes bags that aren't crimped. But that kit is hella expensive. Does the guy in your club typically ride at 120psi? That seems pretty high.

An update on the FatMat! Completed pictures below, but first, a pic of the ride it's going on!!

And here are the FatMat pics:

I will be carpeting the spare tire well with matching carpet tonight, then I will start installing the hardware and electronics. If anyone knows where I can find carpet like the stuff used on sub boxes, let me know!

Looking good man. I've gone to the local Jo-Ann Fabrics to get box carpet. They'll have no idea what you're talking about if you ask for it though. I found it near the specialty fabrics. Here in SE MI, you can get it at a couple places in the local flea market too. If you want to go the high quality route, try Auto Carpet for Car, Truck, Van - Automotive Replacement Carpets.

One thing to watch. Those compressors will get hot. Especially with no air-flow back there. I'd be careful about having them too close to carpeting.

The older Easy Street bags had that problem (maybe 5 years ago). I know quite a few people that have the newer Dominators and haven't had any problems at all. I'm not sure if they've carried that design over to the air-shocks though. I have Slam Specialty bags on my '91 Jimmy and have had NO problems at all with them.

And yes, 120 psi does seem like a high pressure to be riding at. Guess it depends on the bag size though. 120 would make my Slam RE7's hard as rocks.
