Chrysler have no parts?!?! What do I do?

Hi guys,
See the attached pic of my right-hand front lower suspension.
Obviously it needs replacing, by, I'm told, Part Number 04782-740AD.
Mine is an '05 US car, and I can't find this part number in any of the online manuals. Can anyone confirm it is correct?

Now that bad news. I've been told that Chrysler have none, that's none, of these parts in the UK, and they are on back order. Wont be available for 6-8 weeks at least!

Does anyone know if these parts are readily available in the US?

If they're not, what do I do?
This ball-joint is likely to fail the annual MOT/DOT vehicle test!

Any advice is most welcome.
Cheers
Steve

Order parts online. You will find the parts are readily available and much cheaper than factory. Movtech do all of the arms etc.

Chyrsler doesn't sell the ball joint, only the knuckle.
You have to buy the ball joint from another source, like Ebay.

2005 05 DODGE MAGNUM SE Ball Joint MOOG K7469:eBay Motors (item 190330246691 end time Sep-21-09 14:38:59 PDT)

See this thread on how to install the ball joint.
Spindles with lower ball joint?

Oh bugger!

Did I cock this up?????

My man went to replace this today for me.
He got the old one out, and compared the new one against it.

The new one is off-set (which I can see from the ebay pic now) the old one isn't.

My guy says he can't fit it, because of the off-set.

Is he right?

or

Should I have bought two of them?

The old one is back on now so at least it's driveable.
Cheers

That is an adjustable ball joint. Not sure why though. Maybe for a lowered car that needs camber/caster adjusted.
Moog is now selling a non-adjustable ball joint, per this thread, part number K80996

Ball joints are now available from MOOG! - LX Forums Modern Mopar Muscle
MOOG Part # K80996

Thanks Joey, trouble is I've now got this adjustable part in my hand.
I only purchased one, maybe I shoulda bought a pair.

Question is, will this work?

Can I replace the failed stock ball-joint with this adjustable one.
If not I'd better get on the RockAuto. The non-adjustable one is much cheaper!

Cheers

I assume the ball-joint will fit inside the knuckle, since it is being sold/advertised for the 300.
But from the pic of the adjustable ball-joint, it looks like it wouldn't work on the stock suspension, unless it can be adjusted to the stock alignment setting. I am guessing the adjustable ball-joint/bolt will never be centered, like the stock ball joint would be. So while the ball-joint might fit inside the knuckle, you would have trouble aligning the camber/caster.

I am not sure why they make adjustable ball-joints for the lower control arm. Adjustable upper control arms seem to be the usual way to adjust camber on our cars, not lower control arms. Maybe the lower adjustable ball-joints are just one more additional option to adjust camber on lowered cars. You have Eibach springs. Is your current camber in spec? If you have too much negative camber maybe the adjustable ball joint can be used to fix the camber. You would then need to buy a second ball joint.

But if you are just trying to fix one torn ball joint boot, then one ball joint is all you need.
