Well if anyone has been thinking about going with air ride, but want to keep their trunk space, I have figured out a way to get both.
When I was told about the new prototype tanks coming out from UAS, I told Zack I wanted 3 of them. My old setup, I ran 2 5 gallon tanks and wanted more air on tap. So Zack sent me 2 of the new chromed aluminum and 1 of the new silver aluminum tanks.
As most of you know my trunk is pretty full with audio stuff and my air ride components, so I needed a place to mount my third tank.
After messing around with several different options, I found a nice place to mount it. I had the fascia off when I was installing my Halo head lights and new grill and got to looking at the bumper area. After a few measurements in my head, I knew I could fit a tank there. The 5 gallon was a little too big to fit in there for my comfort level, but the new 4 gallon tanks from UAS fit like a glove. It was not necessary, but I cut off the legs on the tank. I wanted it to look cleaner, so it was more for visual than clearance.
Here are some pics.
And with the factory foam padding installed. I had to do some trimming on the bottom edge to get it to sit flush against the bumper again.
And some pics of how low it sits. Some were worried that it would hang down too low and cause issues. But a little fab work on the brackets and it sits higher than the front crossmember as well as the bottom of the radiator.
The front fascia still fits without any issues. I actually have about 2 inches between the tank and the front fascia.
So you can't use the "I need my trunk space" as an excuse for not going air ride anymore. LOL. There is also room to mount 2 compressors up in the bumper area as well. For now, I am fine with my 6 compressors down in the spare tire well. But I like the option of being able to add more later on if I desire.
