the BFG tires I'm using made the car seem a hell of a lot stiffer/rougher. I wish I could afford a pedders suspension to go with that! LOL.

Here are the Pedders parts that I had installed. You can more or less installed depending upon your driving application needs.

1. Rear cradle bushes
2. Bump steer correction kit
3. rear shocks
4. Front struts
5. Front and rear coils
6. Front radius rod bush

In general, the car came out tighter, the ride is firm and stable, and all the suspension noise went away. The float is gone. After about 18 months, the car suspension has broken in and the ride is the best it has ever been. I would say it is not perfect for all road applications and vehicle speeds but I have had some pretty nice rides as of late.

Josh at House of Power Racing - Huntington Beach (714-842-9515) did all the work. He is very well qualified. Mike White at Pedders is very knowledegable as well.

Hi yamabob-
It rides great on smooth pavement, but road noise is considerable....more than I thought a car of this class should have. I am the second owner. The car has 37k miles on it. I wonder if the tires may be the problem. We had a similar deal with a minivan. When we bought new tires for it, the ride got a LOT better.
Our area (like a lot of other towns) has some pretty bad roads. But the most minor road flaws seem to be "amplified". Who knows....maybe this car somehow wound up with the SRT-8 suspension..........but I still love it!
Thanks y'all

I'm not that familiar with the Dunlops you have, but those tires are nearing their serviceable lifespan. That can contribute to a harsher ride. All tires are subject to get harder as they age . Heat cycles is what aids this along. Road noise-as opposed to wind noise can be transmitted thru the car. Again certain tires tread patterns cause more noise than others.
Maybe a better alternative is something like the Goodyear comfor-treads. Tire pressure also plays along in the ride quality. The higher-the harsher. The trade off to lowering pressure is more rolling resistance and outer tread wear versus inner tread wear and less resistance with the higher pressure.

tires

My 300c rides good but some shimmy in the front. I think it's outer tie rod bushings. The car only has 30k on it. Hard to believe parts are going bad already. I need new tires also. I'm still running the origional conti's. I did increase tire pressure to 35psi and it is a much stiffer ride. I have heard a lot of people installing the toyo proxy 4's but I don't think they make a 18". What tires are reccomended on the 300C for overall comfort, performance and milage?
