should they fail I'll go the pedders bushing route on the next round, and keep the heavy duty SRT strut arm.

I won't go as far to say these are better, just redesigned and different..

Gotcha!

Good to know, thanks.

Now on to my MOOG replacement lower ball joints......

I have received calls from 8 different municipalities across this great country and they had a total of 23 Police Interceptor LX vehicles that are down, and down for some time because they all are telling me the parts re on a national back order until the end of November. The front tension rod bushings are totally insufficient and to the point they are junk. Pedders offers a serious bushing upgrade for less than the price of one OE tension rod and they are for both bushings.

thanks

Note to all:

I have never looked up the price of the tension arm or control arm. the price that I referred to are what I have been told by owners. So I took a drive to a local Chrysler store. they told me front tension strut arms are approx $200 each and the control arms are in the $210 range. . So my statement is incorrect. With respect to the police cruisers, the data that a bunch of them tell me is the tension strut bushings are only lasting about 15K to 20K. Now it is also assumable that a police car in general will be driven much harder than the normal LX owners. Now with my personal experience with a Police interceptor package, in 91K miles, the cruiser that I worked on had the tension rods replaced 3 times, and they were bad when I took them out.

cross-referencing that part number (5290828AA and 5290829AA (Right and Left)) showed that Chrysler had changed the part in 2009 (talking about SRT part here)

additionally the part for the SRT and the v6 and 5.7L models was now different (as of 2007) those part numbers are 4782612AC and 4782613AC (right and left).
So 5290828AA and 5290829AA are the numbers for SRT struts, correct? Will SRT struts fit on a V6 model? I'm assuming they would.

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

Is this a complicated install if the car is not already taken apart?

How do you figure that? I just looked up the price of the SRT tensions struts and they are $69.51 each from MoparPartz.com. The link to the Pedders bushings you posted above says they are $156.84 each.

Hmmmm, if DMS's words ring true then jump on the deal because he's offering a helluva deal of two bushings for less than the cost of $69.

Al least that's how I read it. Am I right?
