rear right suspension noise

Hello, I recently noticed a clunking noise coming from the right suspension at the rear of my car. I went to the dealer and they said that I have to replace the whole arm... I am not a mechanic, it sounded strange to me that the issue is so important, the car is still new. Anyone has an idea about that strange noise? Thank you in advance for answers..

I have an '06 and am experiencing a clunking noise when I make turns. It started off at low speeds while turning right only, now it's at any speed in either direction. It'll also make the sound while going over speed bumps. The best description of the sound I can make is line the trunk with pillows and leave a bowling ball in there. *slow rolling then a thunk* I thought that it was the rear sway bar bushings. I'll have to throw it up onto a lift and start investigating. It's extremely annoying to listen to.

many threads on noise in the rear....

Maybe the shock mount is loose.... check the bolts on the top for tightness

maybe the lower shock bushing is blown. Usually found on KW shocks, but maybe yours is toast. Jack up the right rear, take the wheel off, hopefully you have 2 jacks or a stand so you can support the car and then use another jack to lift the suspension so it isn't hanging tight, and then grab the shock to see if it is loose, and look into the lower mount to see if the bushing has failed.

Sway bar end links might be loose or shot,

check the sway bar bushings to see if they are loose.

Plenty of other things too...
