Attention all 2007 LX owners with dash rattle (Dec. 2006-March 2007 build dates only)
A TSB may not be issued for this symptom, so just in case here is the information for diagnosis and repair:
Models: All 2007 LX models built December 2006-March 2007
Symptom: Moderate to severe I/P rattle left side.
Diagnosis: This BSR (Buzz, Squeak, Rattle) is severe in nature and will occur on most road surfaces. The rattle may be temperature sensitive and be worse in cold ambient conditions. The rattle will appear to be coming from the I/P defroster cover to windshield interface directly in front of the driver. While driving the vehicle, with the BSR present, press down on the I/P defroster cover. If pressing down on the cover does not affect the noise, the BSR may be result of the windshield contacting the plenum sheet metal.
Repair: If the windshield is contacting the plenum sheet metal the glass must be removed and repositioned to eliminate the BSR. Prior to removing the glass make sure the rattle is not due to the hood flushness bumper BSR (the hood flushness bumper BSR can be eliminated by turning the flushness bumpers ½ turn counter clockwise). The windshield to plenum BSR has been seen on LX vehicles built between 12/06 and 03/07. After the glass is removed inspect the PIA clips holding down the plenum silencer. Make sure all the plenum silencer PIA clips are fully seated into the BIW prior to installing the windshield.
