park lock out mechanism

I have the park lock out mechanism currently broke on my daughters 05 300. I have the new billet part ordered should get it any day now. How hard is it to get the shifter housing out so you can change the pink thing? Will I need to completely remove the interior and consol? Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks.
