This being my first ever "How To" post, try to take into consideration I am by no means experienced in how to do these. But I think it's pretty good and relatively self-explanatory; so here it goes:
First things first, disconnect and isolate the negative battery terminal. Then pry off your silver radio bezel either with a flathead screwdriver or with your strategically placed fingers and pull.
Once you have it pulled out a bit you can then unplug the connector that goes to the back of the clock and the other connector that goes to the ESP/Hazard Flasher buttons.
Your climate control panel comes out with the silver bezel as one piece, so just disconnect the two connectors that plug in back there and you're left with this...
The next order of business is getting the Radio/Nav system out. Just unscrew the four phillips head screws and pull the unit out a bit.
With a little tricky hand maneuvering you can reach in back and disconnect the connectors on the back side of the radio. The connectors back there on the REC unit were the typical clip-in type except for the FM radio antenna connector which pulls straight in and out with a little effort.
You now have this gaping hole in the middle of your dashboard.
Displayed here is your iPod Interface Module and its cushion. Take the adhesive cushion and wrap it around the module so that it seats snug in the cubby and doesn't rattle and jiggle around.
Now plug the Mopar iPod Kit wiring harness into your car's stock harness like so...
Next, take your now padded Interface Module and zip tie it into place to the bottom of the support brace shown.
Two plugs go into the Interface Module: The big connector links the Interface Module to the rest of the wiring harness. However, off of this big connector also comes the headphone auxillary jack which gets routed to the glove box. The smaller second connector leads to the main iPod connector and is routed through the dash to the glove box along with the auxillary cable (two different ways to operate your iPod through the stereo).
Hope that was clear enough for everyone.
Now, as neatly as you can, tuck everything into the back of the "hole" so nothing interferes with getting your radio/nav back in place. Zip tie cables if you feel it's necessary.
Time to reconnect everything to the back of your radio/nav and screw it back into place. Don't forget to route these two guys around the back of the dash to the back of the glove box of course.
Once you've done that you can put the silver bezel back on and reconnect everything on that.
Almost done! Now just remove your glove box and drill a 1 1/8" hole where ever you want as long as the wires won't interfere with the way it opens and closes.
Stick the two cords through the hole you drilled. Now take the supplied rubber grommet, slide the two cords through the slit in the side of it and then push the grommet through the hole until it pops into place. Now doesn't that look nice?
Done! Now plug in your iPod and begin the learning process of how to use your new Mopar iPod Kit!
Cool, eh?
And so you all know, the sound quality is spectacular! The controls require some getting used to but you'll be going through your playlists using nothing but the steering wheel controls in no time.
