Well, I bought two sets of 3757s and installed one set on the Blue '05. Now you've got me thinking "Take 'em off of there and put them in the tails of the H.E." after a little Dremel* work.
Thinkin' I just might do that...

There is the old school way and that is to take a 3157 bulb and your dremel tool.
Cut the nubs on the sides of the bulb, off. Slide the 3157 bulb that you just cut into a 3057 socket and there you go. It may not be as snug, and from time to time you need to check that the bulb did not come loose.
Freebird... I took a look at this last night, and took some pictures. I hope to get them posted up later tonight.
The bulb and filaments look identical, but the bases are not, as you suggested. At the moment I can't remember for sure which was which, but "I think" the base of the front turn bulbs (3157s) has a skinny "ear" in the center of each side which matches with a notch in the bulb socket (the part attached to the wiring connector). The other bulb (3057s) is "jogged" vs. "eared." See the illustration:
The jog and notch of the rear bulb and socket appears to extend beyond the center-line of the bulb's base. Thus, it appears it would be possible with a Dremel* tool to partially erode the "ear" on the front turn bulb so that what is left would fit securely into the "beyond center" portion of the jog of the rear bulb socket. Trial and Error would be required unless/until a jig was established to increase precision and accuracy. But I see no reason why such an altered bulb would not sit securely in the socket without fear of "falling out."

Excellent write-up Tim!!!! I'm going to make some calls today to try and locate a 3757 manufacturer. If that does not work, I will send you a free set to expirement with. I'm sure everyone on the board would love to see if filing off the nubs works as I have been told by many people it does.
All these numbers are confusing... is it 3157, 3757, 3057... I can't keep it straight evidently! LOL
I do have a Dremel* tool (cheapo entry model), but will be gone on vacation starting Friday afternoon through Sept. 9. Actually I'll be in the Mira Loma/Riverside area of S. Calif.
But I'll be glad to "experiment" when I get back... I kind of planned to experiment anyway on the amber bulbs I pulled out when I installed the Stealth Bulbs on the front turns. OR... I could pull the Stealth's from our '05 Blue, and experiment on them to place in the '06 Heritage and be Stealthy all the way 'round.

The bulb and filaments look identical, but the bases are not (correct: the base is what will always be different between various part numbers, the reason a 3157's ears do not line up to slide in the knotches of a 3057 socket), as you suggested. At the moment I can't remember for sure which was which, but "I think" the base of the front turn bulbs (3157s) has a skinny "ear" in the center of each side which matches with a notch in the bulb socket (the part attached to the wiring connector). Correct
The other bulb (3057s) is "jogged" vs. "eared." Correct again.
See the illustration:I edited your Illustration's with vertical colored bars on the ends/sides and numbered each bulb.
In order to get the 3157 bulb base to fit in the 3057 socket. You have to cut all of the side "ears" off. But the base is some what fragile to be getting a dremel blade too close to the red ends. So you need 2 tools. A dremel and a file. The green line is your cut line for the dremel blade. The rest of the knub that is left after the dremel cut. Use a file and slowly work the rest of the knub until it is as smooth as a babies...you know what. Make sure there are no plastic shavings still attached to the base. Wipe it clean and then insert the 3157 into a 3057 socket. That is the way I have done it before, with a different car, but most sockets are the same from make to make. 3057, 3157, 3757, etc.
The best practice is indeed GTL, using your OEM bulbs you were given with the car. Save the Stealths until you are sure it works. The cost of another set of cheap amber bulbs or clear for that matter, if only using them to beta test: cut, fit, etc. But I will say, Aaron that is a nice offer to give up a set of the stealth for beta testing.

Freebird... the way it looked to me, you would not have to carve the total ear off (I could be wrong)... rather just the portion that is blotched by the notch of the rear sockets. In this way, the remaining portion of the ear would "fit" in the open area of the rear notch and provide a better fitment (if one can get it right).
I will examine and work with the pictures I took last night, and maybe take some more tonight to illustrate reality vs. my stick drawings.
