ok so ive also come to the conclusion im missing a few parts. I only have 1 silicone hose which was connected to the lower tube. I dont have one for either end of the upper tube. one goes into motor and other goes tube to filter, or can I just use a t bolt clamp? I need 3.5" silicon hose right?
Im thinking ill call Volant on monday and see if they can ship me the accessories that would normally come with the CAI
EDIT:
found this on Volant's website...
"This form is only intended to replace missing or damaged products from original Volant
CAI Kits. We do not grant special requests for items to sell only one product for any special
projects. We do not sell direct."
All you need is the silicone 3.5" connector that goes from the throttle body to the intake tube. The other side of the intake tube goes directly into the filter. You do not need the silicone connector to make the connection. Leave off the tube that you are having an issue with. Many 300c owners have removed the factory air baffle under the wheel well. The tube is not needed. The air box will draw more air from the wheel well without that tube. My SRT8 has an airbox that draws air from behind the wheel well and they do not come with that factory air baffle that the 300c's do. That tube is supposed to pull air from lower in the wheel well, but the car sounds better and draws more free air without it.

the box does not sit flush without the lower tube. I tried that. but it was getting dark so maybe I didnt get it right. No one around here sells a 3.5" not even lowes! im gonna have to order one off the net or something
If you look under your stock airbox, you will see two rubber pegs that fit into two holes in the top of the fender well that helps hold it into place. Pull off the rubber pegs from the stock airbox and push them in from the inside of the Volant airbox. Those pegs will now fit into the two hole in the top of the wheel well. With those in place and the Volant airbox bolted in, it will fit flush and nice. That tube has nothing to do with the way the airbox fits.
***Correction*** There is only one, not two, rubber peg that fits into the small hole in the top of the wheel well. Be sure to bolt in the front of the airbox also.
