Hay Gary it's Mark in Houston. Don't let the chevy guys rattle you, plus keep your head up at work. Lonestar has a wishy washy sales staff. The dealership earned the name Landshark Chevy for a reason in Houston. I am an ex-owner of the last great rear wheel sedans, of the last century. The 1994 - 1996 Impala SS. An LT1 corvette breathing 5,000 lb. beast. Since GM canceled all rear wheel drive sedans, wagons, etc in 1996, in favor of building more Tahoe and Suburbans and not build a new factory. They just re-tooled the Arlington, Tx. plant to trucks. That is why since 1996 99% of all police cruisers are rear wheel drive, over heating, POS ford crown vics. Before 1996, Chevy caprice classics were the cruiser of choice. The Chevy V8 could take the abuse of 3 straight Houston PD shifts and the cars were not turned off for long, no over heating in Texas summer and always worked when they wanted to pull you over for a ticket, lol.

IMHO, after 1996, chevy saw the popularity in the sales of the Impala brand name, (They forgot that it came with a corvette engine and it was rear wheel drive) and used it on there new front wheel drive, mid-size sedan and a V6 if that weren't insult enough. What Chevy set out to accomplish post-96 SS, was retiring the old mid-size Lumina's with the "new and improved" Impala SS. It worked for the masses and that is what a car manufacturer wants. So since 1996, Chevy really has been putting out souped up Lumina's with Impala badging. The newest release "SS" from Chevy doesn't deserve to carry the historical name of all past Impala's 1958 -1996. But GM just let 30,000 people go and are headed to bankruptcy protection, that should tell you something about today's GM.

Others have tried to duplicate the overall success of the 94-96 Impala SS's. Mercury tried it with the Marauder and failed. Never took off.

Not since the introduction of the 5.7 Hemi 300, magnums and chargers, almost 10 years later, we have a new King and the 5.7 & 6.1 can now be crowned "The Baddest Saloon, (thats british for sedan), on the planet". Chrysler my hat is off to you guys, you deserve it hands down.

Gary with that in mind now, feel very confident when you drive up to work at Landshark Chevy, let them all have a good laugh. You will have the last laugh. This is coming from a 15 year Chevy fan and past multiple chevy owner. Laterz Gary.

Hi there Gary..

Seems that the 'Green Eyed Monster' is an international beast. If you look at the posts of 'Murphy The Cat' you will see that he is alive and kicking in the UK!

Just hang in there and enjoy your motor. You will have the last laugh.

Regards
