Cool Houston 300 owners, let's get organized.

I have sent this message below to the individual Houston 300 owners that responded to the Houston 300c/srt owners thread in hopes that it will spark some interest to organize the Houston and surrounding areas 300 owners. Similar to the Socal group on the 300c forums. Here is a link from the original Houston thread. Houston 300C/SRT-8 owners

Now I am sending a new thread to the Texas Forum because I see over 400 of you viewed the original thread, but didn't say hello or what part of town you live in,etc. I know some of the viewing traffic was picked up from other forum members (not from Houston) reading the post when it was a new thread.

Bo'sRT, on 300 forums and from Houston, was in the Impala club with me and it was alot of fun. We were talking about it the other night. How fun the people were, laughing, racing, modding, having our own club shirts, logo for the car, etc. When we had a monthly meetings, we would have over 50 Impala's in a restaurant parking lot, while we ate and had our meeting. It made it hard for other patrons to get in to eat, but they did get a mini car show on there way inside, for free, lol. We would leave our hoods up, cars on display, etc. Someone in the club was always on Impala security duty, while meeting was in progress. We also met at Vendors locations, Chevy dealerships, etc. for other monthly meets. We also raised money for charity with car washes with our favorite sponsors, Hooter's and the Hooter's girls all pitching in to wash our rides and the other cars pulling up for a car wash/donation. You could imagine the lines we would get for washes, and it wasn't for the Impala's either, lol. Although when over 100 cars, of the same make and model, are all parked in a row it makes a pretty impresive statement itself.

I would like try to get the Houston 300 owners together and talk shop, the 300, mods, monthly meetings, car shows, Houston raceway park, charity events, etc.

We need to start organizing the Houston 300's. SoCal and Miami 300 areas are gaining speed, monthly meets, car shows, drag strips, etc.

We had so much fun with the over 100 members of HAIL (Houston Area Impala Lovers) 94-96 only. That was only three years of production. This 300 should see a good long run of production. It is more fun to meet up with others that share your passion that to do the mods alone, e-mailing others too far too meet, etc. One thing that was great about the HAIL club is we used to do group install mods, on a weekend. Everyone showed up, food, drinks, etc.,cranked up some tunes and would pull one Impala up at a time and complete the mod as a group. By the end of the day, we were all greasy, the cars were done, we saved a bunch of $ on installation costs, etc. One mod weekend consisted of nothing more than a brake bleed, pad upgrade and installing firmer body bushings from chevy trucks. Our guys found every part in the world to help with our Impalas. We also made some great friends along the way. I still socialize and am good friends with other members from HAIL and most of us don't even have our Impala's anymore.

Let me know your thoughts, if interested, etc.

Pass this message on to other Houston area 300 owners you may know, but are not on the 300 C Forums, but should be.

SA here...

I'm from the San Antonio area but couldn't agree with you more! I'd be willing to make the drive to meet in Houston and feel there are PLENTY of 300 enthusiast to make periodic meets worthwhile. I'm very surprised actually that Texas as a whole isn't "representing" better than we are! Let's make it happen! There are enough of us with modded cars and more than a passing interest in showing them off. Anyone else?

I couldn't agree more with you. I am sorry for not including all of Texas. It's just in the impala club, we had 100+ members in Houston, 75 in Dallas, 30 in SA and as many in Austin. I thought each City would have had enough 300's to form there own local group. Man was I wrong. What has happened to Texas, not just Houston now. Hola Texas, wake your asses up.

I want to include all of the Texas areas now, all are more than welcome to join in. I also want to extend an open invite to the LX forums and ALL LX owners. The Magnums and Chargers are our brothers in arms as well. We all share the same platform, we should all share in the fun of clubs, meet and greets, etc.

If Bo'sRT or others who are reading this and are LX forum members, please cut and paste this thread in the LX forums. I haven't signed up yet, but will later on tonight.

And all else who is reading this and is in Texas, don't shy away from posting on here or LX forums.

I am willing to be the "Boss" of the Houston Family,if no one objects. I will need the help of the other "Bosses" though, and all of there associates, to get together for a sit down of the 4 families. I will need a "Boss" from up in "Dallas", as well as a "Boss" from Austin.

I am looking for a "Boss" in "San Antonio", but I think we got that covered already with Taylor Motorsports in SA. Judging by his enthusiasm from his recent post to the 300c forums, he might be our man to represent the LX Family over in SA. How you feel about that Taylor motorsports, you up for the job of "Boss" of San Antonio? Once all the "Bosses" are established, we can decide then which City is the best one for all to meet, with logistics to take in to account, for the first sit down of the "LX Family meeting".

Name the time & place

Sounds great. I'm grinning ear to ear everyday with my new ride. I used to drive the Impala '96 as well. Just post the time and place and if I'm in town I'll swing by.

It's been awhile...

...since I've been on the site and I see more San Antonio owners. I've been busy traveling for work.

Maybe we should get a SA meet first. Who's in?

Do you have a shop TaylorMotorsports? Just curious.

I'm in!

Sounds good if we can get enough SA interest! I have a used car dealership in Boerne but live in SA. We "auto locate" and occassionally sell cars on-line. It's a part time thing for us now (my wife and I), though we are a TX licenced dealership.

Anyone else in SA wanna join the party?
