300c vs 2000 trans am

Just wondering how a 2007 300c HEMI would do bone stock against a stock 2000 trans am. It's not a ws6 or firehawk, it just has the ls1 5.7 they are rated 305hp/330 tq and weigh about 3400lbs

Its all about the launch! Practice your launch and try to have no tire spin. You should take him.

Your C weighs about 800 pounds more so it would be a good race but, unless you totally booger up the launch, it should be a win for you.

You should pull on him with a good launch if it is a manual, if its an auto you will pull him even more. The WS6 is a slightly different story.. autos will give you a good run, manuals should take you... imagining all these opponents are stock. Thing with the manuals is its all in the driver, if he can't crunch gears then it won't do him justice, if he can then a WS6 will surprise you, seen many cutting mid 13's bone stock, won't manage that with a stock C. The none WS6 will be a fun race for you, but you'll love winning!

The regular T/A not much slower than a WS-6... unless you can tree him he will probably win by a fender

I didn't know we were talking 1/4 mile runs... bearing in mind that most people with a 10 year old sports car have raced it more than once on the track and have gotten pretty good at it... then yes... they will provably have you at the track, but not by much. I ran a WS6 with a LS6 block (which have been proven quicker) with a speed that clicked a 13.1... good driver I know but there is no stock C (non srt) that will stick with it. But on the street against the average joe I still think you will edge out a poor launched manual and should take an auto.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I figured it would be a close match. He has a manual tranny and claims he has beaten a SRT 300C and a 03 mustang cobra (I called BS as these two cars have significantly more power stock than his). Even though my car weighs 600 lbs more it would still be a closely matched race and yes we are talking a 1/4 mile race. What RPM do you guys suggest for a good launch?

Around 12-1500 is about right... but instead of mashing the gas on the 3rd amber... just release the brake and then roll into the throttle. Takes practice but it works.
