Made it out to Little River Academy tonight. Met Wade and Wade - 2 super nice guys , one with an SRT10 and the other with a GCSRT8. Iced the intake and made my first run - TC disabled. Woah it was a burn a thon. I peddled it 4 times and then just left it down (more rubber wasted). The results were terrible. Worst time I ever ran with any car ever!
15.2@106.86
A guy pulled up with a Challenger SRT 8 automatic. He ran a 13.5 at 105, I was pretty bummed. After seeing the rubber coating my exhaust and rear qtrs had, I decided to run with TC on the next run. I did not ice anything, figured there was no point. While I was waitign a saw the challenger run agian
13.6@105. He was telling me he was going to run 12s. Well I had to swallow my pride as I had 15.2 under my belt.
Second run, drove around the water as much as possible (always do) and this time I did a very small burnout - it went to redline anyhow - and then staged. I nailed it a little wheel spin and off I went. The run felt good, was not sure what to expect. I get to the booth and the girl handing out the time slips says "19.2" - I said no way, tha'st the other guy! She said oh sorry that was your margin of victory. Im like Huh? Then she says 13.1. I was like yes!!!
It was
13.10@107.94. The other guy ran a
32.69@20.24 ( he broke it)
my 60 foot time was 2.13, 1/8 was 8.5@83.94
I was pretty excited - I was looking for the Challenger guy, but I diditn see him. Anyhow I packed up the kids and the wife and drove home. Before I got there I was hoping or 12s, after rthe first run I was hoping for 13 anything. I left knowing the car has 12s in it. BTW Little river is not a fast track. When I moved from south FL, my car at the time ran
12.9@110 at Moroso in West Palm, @ Little River all I could muster was a 13.44.
Lessons learned -
1) Dont do a good brnout with F1s - They got hot and are worthless
2) Unless you have some seriously good grip (or a track that hooks) run with TC on.
Next time I will be reporting 12s, no doubt about it.
Thanks,
