Behavior questions about the 300C tranny

Hi all!

So i've had my 2005 300C Hemi for some weeks now and i am really enjoying it. I have never driven an automatic tranny before. I have noticed that the tranny seems to be pretty smart. Almost like a mind of it's own. So i got some questions about how it behaves in certain situations:

1) Most of the time when i floor it, the tranny "understands" that i need some speed and shifts down 1-2 shifts. That V8 rumble awakens and the car goes away like a beast. This is awesome! BUT, sometimes when doing the same thing the tranny decides to stay on the current gear. Yes, the car still goes away fast but it's not the same thing. Is there some kind of technique hidden here?

2) Is it normal for the tranny always wanting to use the highest gear possible, even at low speeds? I can drive in the city slowly noticing that the RPM is very low (around 1100 or so) and if i let the gas go the car is rolling pretty fast for city traffic. I hit the brake and it shifts down and will be rolling more carefully.

3) The shifting is cotton smoth. Sometimes i can't even feel the tranny shifting at all. I follow it's behaviour via the RPM because of this. However, on some shifts (def not all of them) i can feel a slight delay in shifting. Kind of a slip, altough it still is very "soft". I think this is when hitting 70 km/h or so and that the tranny actually shifts up 2 notches (cause it always wants to shift up to the highest gear). The question is, if the tranny's not behaving normally (wich i never could tell cause i've only driven this one) will the computer tell me that something is wrong? There could actually be troubles with it without me noticing it since i don't know how it is supposed to behave.

4) Is there a guide somewhere where i can read about the behavior of tranny (NAG1?) equipped on the 5.7 Hemi?

Sorry for these stupid questions but i really appreciate your time.
