I also dislike how my C "wanders" in the lane when driving on freeways. The car doesn't feel planted. Not sure if this wandering is the same thing as crown sensitivity or not.

I am curious if the SRT-8 owners have the same problem, with their different suspension. Or better yet, is there anyone that has driven a C and SRT-8 been able to detect any difference?

Anyone get this?

When you go from high beams back to low beams the HID's sometimes jump to triple brightness then fade to normal. Sort of like a Hot restrike.

Crown sensitivity and lateral wandering are the same, IMO. I've driven both and the SRT-8 doesn't show lateral wandering. Lateral sensitivity is typical on tight suspensions. Some manufacturers opt to dial in a lot of "toe-in" as a fix.

A better fix on the 300C is to get rid of the OEM tires. The Contis have very poor lateral stability.

highly annoying crown sensitivity

northern rider, thanks for the tip
will give it a try--can't wait to replace the conti's anyway--no good on snow

can you recommend a good all-season tire replacement that will fit on stock wheels? people are talking about a BFG tire...

it just disappoints me that this great car will lead me into a ditch if i dare scratch my nose--always fighting the right pull--but she runs straight on flat parking lots. same roads with TL or Lexus--no problems.

That will be a nice surprise if the lateral wandering stops with new tires.
I am still running the Conti self-sealers and only have 6000 miles on them.
Still havn't made up my mind about going to 20", or wider 18" replacements.
May be awhile before I finally switch, but I can live with this minor annoyance until then.

I think what you're seeing is both the low and high beams on simultaneously for an instant. Nothing to worry about.

The 300c's with HID's use all 4 headlights when on high beam mode.
It's the HID's getting about three times as bright and slowly dimming over about 20 seconds. It happens randomly. When it happens those HID's get VERY bright as seen from the front.
