Thanks guys, this has been one area that has bugged me since I took ownership. I was hoping that my new SRT8 style bumper would not start to droop but of course it did.

I performed the fix this morning using some scrap steel, a couple rubber plugs, some spare bolts and now it looks better than it ever did!!! I can't believe how much that drop in the rear detracted from the clean side profile.

Thanks again,

Chris

Ok, so how come some of you guys get the TSB notices and I have not gotten a single one to date? I love the bracket fix, specially since I was crashed from the back and as if possible, the gap is bigger than ever even after the body shop fix it... what is the screw diameter that needs to be used?

Only a recall notice will be mailed to you. TSB's are performed by the dealer if the customer complains about a problem, and there is a TSB on that specific problem.

As far as the screw diameter... I used a 1/4" by 1 1/2" carraige bolt.

You can also use 5/16", which is what I ended up using. I wasn't sure which size, so I bought 5/16" and 3/8", but 3/8" was too big. Hat's off to Jerry, as the car looks so much better now!

I Also Had The TSB Done

The fix looks "OK" but not as good as the bracket approach. I will also do the same when I have time. I also had them replace the rear "300C" emblem on the trunk lid. Mine was pretty shot. Well the "factory trained" tech put the new one on about an inch to the right. I'll probably heat gun it off and replace it myself.

Thank you JerryM!

I used your idea and preformed the fix last night with great results. I am looking forward to showing my service advisor who said the bumper could not be fixed any better....
