A month or two ago I printed the corresponding posts from this thread and gave it to my salesman to share with his service dept./body shop. I haven't heard anything from him or them since.

However, last week my wife took the Heritage Edition in for an oil/filter change, and without her asking they told her that they wanted the body shop to take a look at it because they now had a fix for the bumper sagging from someone who had printed it from the internet (guess who that was?!). After looking at the H.E., the body shop guy said he wanted to try the fix on our '05 Blue 300C first, since he had seen that it was the worst.

Well, we had an oil change appt. for the '05 today, and they scheduled the fully warrantied repair during the afternoon. They brought my wife home (thank you!), and said they would pick her up, unless we wanted to come together to get the car after they closed (which is what we did).

From what I can tell in the dark of the evening, the bumper sagging is gone and the fitment looks terrific! We will schedule the H.E. work for next week after I get back from a trip to Chicago in the '05.

So kudos for the simple, yet effective fix. And kudos to my dealer, Kincheloe Motors or Parkersburg, WV, for providing warranty coverage beyond the TSB ineffective solution. That's the kind of service that keeps me coming back.

I just finished this fix on my '05 C and it worked perfectly! Mine was sagging very badly (1/4" +), and it's completely gone now.

Thanks to Jerry for his ingenious fix. Congratulations to everyone who has performed the fix themselves or had it done 'correctly' by the dealership. The sag on my car has been progressing slowly but now it's to the point where I can't stop noticing it. Hope I can have the same good luck as GoofyTim with the dealership!

I've had my 300C for about a month now and always wondered about that sag in the rear. I thought it might be normal, but thanks to you guys, I now know that it is not. I'll be fixing it this weekend.

Is it me OR does Joey have the pic of the wrong bolt......

I believe that is the bolt to hold the tailight in (without the plastic wing nut on it) right?????

Im going to do this this weekend......

I didnt even notice it until I read this thread.....thanks!!!

This home-brew fix DIDN'T help the Heritage Edition because DCX already incorporated some kind of brace struction into the fascia and uses a bolt now. However, that design fix doesn't stop the sag because the brace structure doesn't extend far enough toward the back of the bumper.

So, I'm going to have to come up with some other means of rebracing the '06. The shops solution was to loosen and drop the tail light assembly just a little bit, but I don't like that visual compromise. I want the sag gone, period.

So, while the '05 issue is completely fixed, the '06 issue still is awaiting complete satisfaction. I just need some time, and now the weather (cold) isn't cooperating. This may have to wait until next year.

I'm going to fix my sagging bumper fascia tonight after I get home from the folks' house for dinner (car is in the heated shop ) copying Jerry M.'s improvement on Chrysler's TSB. It's been bugging me for a while now but I've never made time to do it.

I just printed the TSB for reference even though I'm not doing it exactly as it says..... but has anyone read the actual TSB? Check out The final Step (#12). It says "Close Trunk Lid" Does Chrysler have so little confidence in it's dealer's technicians that they feel the need to tell them to CLOSE THE DAMN TRUNK WHEN THEY ARE DONE? That's right up there with those sunshade things to keep the sun from beating into your car all day - - they say "remove before driving" on them.......
