I think the issue is that some service folks are having difficulty locating the TSB flash without the starscan hooked to an eligible vehicle. I was by my service department tonight and the service manager searched all over but could not locate the flash.

He did flash my engine control module with three (yes three) ECM updates, the last being revision "I".

How is your service people finding and then applying the TSB tranny flash to a 300C?

What's the trick?

Apparently the "trick", MrMopar, is for the tech to do the flash under "Warranty" provisions. In talking with the tech who flashed mine recently he indicated that that's what it required.

If he mentioned that earlier it escaped my poor hearing undetected.

Arrow Good to go

I'm inclined to think that my issue is unrelated to the TSB flash. No one else who has received the flash has encountered a no-start condition.

One of our members whose vehicle has never been flashed this side of Brampton has an identical no-start condition with the sc tune removed.

The fact that I now have two ECMs is always a possible source of the tuner's confusion. I have had the tuner connected, for clearing codes and running performance comparisons, to the car with the B&G-flashed ECM installed.

I'd consider this the all-clear for any of you who have been holding off getting the flash pending the outcome here.

As stated in the prior post, I've only recently learned that it is necessary for the tech to invoke the Warranty provision to enable the flash to a vehicle whose VIN is not on the original "authorized" list.

That item of information, plus the full printout of TSB 18-031-05, should be all your tech needs to accomplish the flash.

TSB 21-020-06.

One word of caution: If your like of the present paddle Hold shift logic is stronger than your dislike of the mis-behavior of your tranny, skip this flash until superchips releases the 6.1 version of their LX flashpaq, whereupon you can override the paddle Kick logic of this new TSB flash and restore paddle Hold.

Otherwise there's no reason not to run, not walk, to your dealer to get this superb flash applied to your TCM, under warranty.

Just an update, I finally got the flash done. I have to say, not the greatest deal of improvement, but I would say moderate in drive and feel. I am sure for someone like Meister who races his car against the clock, this flash helps in time, but for me, the issue was while in drive, the car would lag out in gear instead of kicking down a gear. At WOT, I notice this new flash, but for cruising, it is still doing the same old BS of not kicking down a gear when it should. This includes the new TSB flash AND a flashpaq

I'm quite surprised, Brick. Sorry to hear that, because it certainly doesn't sound like a "gripe" that I or any others in my circles have had.

You know you could always tap the autostick left once and kick it down a gear, but it certainly shouldn't require that.

Are you perhaps simply being too gentle in how you administer your request?

It seems, as I'm mentally reviewing things here, that even a quarter inch or so of pedal travel, if applied relatively quickly, though smoothly, will kick mine down a gear anytime it's loafing along a gear or two high for decent acceleration. And if I nail it she's down two gears in a heartbeat and it's Hi Yo Silver, Away!!! Best be grabbing leather and aiming for a clear spot, 'cause she's just exploding forward in high howl.

As I try my best to not get caught grinning too broadly. Decorum among us more seasoned citizens being what it is and all.

Dam that sounds like fun!

Thanks for the excuse for a drive, Brick. I'll be back in while...

No problem Meister,

I think all the hype led me to expect too much. There is a difference at WOT, but I have been trying to fix this lag forever. I can be cruising along at a steady speed, approach a small but long hill, and instead of knocking down a gear, it will lug out in that gear the entire way through the hill... drives me nuts. Sure I can accelerate or slapstick, but shouldn't it figure it out... all my other vehicles have.
