Sunroof rattle....

I've experienced something like plastic rattling on the drivers side of the sunroof.
The dealer ofcourse says they can't find anything.
Anyone have this issue?

The sunroof is closed. When its opened it doesn't do it...

Thanks

My sunroof seems fine when full on or off. But rattle when in push up position. Is that normal?

mine sunroof squeeks when it's closed, think it's just the rubber rubbing against each other, is there anyway to fix it?

There is a TSB for this. It involved dropping the headliner, tightening the bolts holding down the moonroof, and putting some glue on it. Covered under warranty. It took a couple of hours to fix this for me. Sunroof no longer rattles, but the tech leaning on my seat back during the repair damaged my seat s that it creaks when you sit in it!

After fixing the rattle, I now can hear the squeak. I haven't had time to fix it, but it I understand that it is the glass rubbing against the seal. Lubricate the seal and the squeak will go away.

You'd think after all these years they would know how to make a moonroof!

Where exactly should I lube it? I don't think I have any rattle problem until I start using it because of the Summer.

I had the same issue, dealer said there was a bulletin and fixed it, or so it seemed, it has improved to a quieter, more general rattle, but it is still there, I am going to take it back.

The product is called silicone emulsion. It is used to condition the rubber. I use it on all the family cars. I buy it from GM dealership. It is around $5cdn.

hope that helps.

To lubricate the sunroof rubber seal, use silicon spray in a can that has a little red straw. You will need the straw to spray the backside/rear of the seal.
