Brake TSB?

Hey all.. I just picked up my 06 CSRT8 I got like 500 miles on it and I have noticed that one of the rear rotors looks scored to me. The only thing is is that I already have the slotted rotors. I snapped some pics with my cell phone so sorry if they're not that good. Can you guys have a look and let me know if this is something I should be concerned with and should have it looked at? What can I do if I already have the slotted rotors on?

The first 2 pics are from the rear rotor I'm concerned about. The second 2 are form thr other rear rotor which I'm not so concerned about. The front rotors look ok to me.

i just got done bedding my brakes after new rotors (but not new pads) were installed per the TSB. what slight grooving and squeaking i had is now gone.

Try it, you've got nothing to lose except brake pad material.

1.) following the bedding procedure in the previous post.

2.) Wait.

Seriously, after you bed the brakes wait and see what happens. It's hard to tell from pictures if they're scored. They do "look" kinda scored but the best way to tell is to run your finger nail across them. If there is a noticeable bumpiness then take it to the dealer and get it noted. At least it's on paper that you've complained. If they haven't gone away in about 4-5k miles then take it back.

A lot of us have the posi-quiet pads as I do so it's not an apples to apples comparison with our experiences. You could go that route and get the posi 104's. No scoring have been reported from what I see.

great tips vvv90. probably goes w/o saying, but do the above when the brakes are cool (or before you drive the car for the day). my wife's husband made the mistake and if it weren't for silver sulfadiazine cream, he'd have a nasty little burn on his fingertip.

Yes, that goes without saying HOPEFULLY.

I can admit I made the mistake of touching rotors before without waiting long enough. No severe burns but enough to teach you not to do it again.

Thanks... This is the type of advice/assessment I was looking for. I do feel noticeable bumpiness already when I run my finger across the rotor in question. But I'll wait for my first oil change to point it out to the dealer.
