mp,
You're just now getting the leak after all this time? How many miles do you have on your beautiful C?

Maybe you can answer a question for me then; Mine leaked and was repaired in October 2006, about a year ago. I asked the service writer at that time if the o-rings were different or improved or updated in some way so this will not be a recurring thing; he said they were. Can you tell me if there has been an update since last October? Or do I really have the "improved" o-rings in there? So far so good, no more leaks - - but I only have 10,000 miles on the car and the first leak occured at 5800 miles.

One reason I'm skeptical is a good friend is a technician at a Mercedes Benz dealership in Southern California; he's been there 15 years and has 5 techs working under him so he's not a rookie - - and he tells me this has been a known issue in Mercedes cars since 1996 or so. You'd think they would have ALREADY updated the O-rings before the 300's were even produced, wouldn't you?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hmm...I noticed a little puddle of tranny fluid this morning backing out of the garage. I have 85000kms on my 2005, dont think they will do that under warranty. Guess I'll have to call my dealership tommorow.

I developed my own tranny leak over the weekend ('05 300c, 42,000 mi) and after doing research on this site I was relieved to find out that it wasn't a big deal.

I made an appointment at the dealer and since I planned on dropping my car off after hours, I printed a copy of the TSB and left it in my car.

The dealer called this morning and told me that the TSB (# 21-002-05) was an "old TSB" and no longer applied. Now they replace the entire "assembly", I assume he referring to the connector guide bushing. I will get more information regarding this when I pickup my car.

Because I bought my car used I am not completely verse with the 7-70 powertrain warranty. The dealer told me that the warranty has a $100 deductible, is this true?

They replaced my whole transmission!

At 9000 miles took my SRT in for an oil change and they said I had a transmission leak..... Tried to fix it and still leaked so they replaced the transmission! While they were at it replaced all the brake pads and rotors!

My SRT8 is in the dealer shop as I type for the dreaded tranny leak.......(((. It's a 2006 with 17500 miles on it. I hope it's fixed right when I get it back.

I don't recall there being a deductible but I'm at work and don't have my owner's manual & warranty booklet with me (the "C" is safe at home). Hopefully you have your warranty booklet in your car and it will tell you for sure.

As a second owner, you do have to transfer the 7/70 to your name (for a $150 fee) within 30 days of purchase. This can be done at any Chrysler dealership- - hopefully you did this or you may not be covered. Chrysler gave me a grace period however so maybe you'll be ok.
