2005 300C BROKEN CD/MP3 player (6 disc changer)!!!!!!

I'm really disappointed because I only had my used 2005 300C for 4 weeks now and my 6 disc CD changer on my Nav radio will no longer play any of my MP3 CD's. My regular CDs will play but with a scratching sound embedded into the songs. I noticed a few days a ago that it did not recognize 2 of the 6 CDs I had in the player and then once I tried to switch CDs the radio no longer will load CDs right. It comes up with a read error or no data on CD. Does anyone have any insight into this problem. It seems as if the CD loader is out of alignment or something. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, everything else on the radio works.

< Bump> anyone??

i can only suggest another unit.... we'll see if someone on the board has experience in the nitty gritty of the unit's operation/repair.

I hope not a new unit. I can't imagine how much that costs? I will call the dealer today just to check.

If it comes to that.... look on ebay and in the junk yards... dealer cost will not be pretty. Maybe have them send it in for repair or give it a look see.

Your best bet is to buy one on ebay. I got a RAK (6 disc w/cassette) for less than $150. Either unit works fine RAK/RAQ. It's easy to replace, you can find instructions if you search the board.

I have one I might sell

Upgraded to the NAV a while ago, and I have my factory 6 CD changer + MP3 laying around in the garage. PM me if interested.

2005 radio will be out of warranty unless he somehow just took possession of it in the last year. If he has the Navigation it's going to suck having to replace it, or he could be content to get a PAC IPOD adapater and utilize the IPOD versus using the disc changer. You can always sell the unit for someone who only wants it to add video. I know a few people who are interested if he/she is looking to go that route.

If you're good friends with the customer service guys, you might be able to get them to swap it out...never know. GOOD LUCK either way you go.

I am going to go to the dealer in person and see what they can do. Over the phone they just want to sell me the warranty that costs Ummm $2495!!!! That will cover the car for 7 years from when original owner took delivery or 100,000 miles. All electronics and mechanical are covered, basically bumper to bumper.

I am interested in the IPOD hookup idea. I want one that is wired in directly, does anyone know how to do that? I really hate ones that use a radio signal, they really sound like poop hitting a shallow bowl!!! Any ideas on how to wire in a IPOD hookup???? Anyone???
