They had a Goodyear rep come look at ours at the last dealership. The service mgr would not come out and directly say to us - they know they have a problem - but he all but said it. They replaced the Goodyears with Goodyears and of course we had the same problem. We just said screw it and paid for Michelin's I did call the dealer and tell them - thanks for your time and help but we still had to buy tires. They were apologetic. That and $658 will pay for my Michelin's and the mount and balance!

well took my car in to another dealer, and they said they couldn`t notice any wobble and told me take it to a goodyear store and have them check out the tires. goodyear found that 3 tires were out of balence. so paid to have them done and then they road tested my car and said they couldn`t feel anything. so on my way home i noticed the same thing still happening. i`m sick of all the run around. could it possibly be the rims? i will be calling the dealer in the morning and also chrysler.

We went through the same thing - over and over. The Michelins have been on the car for over a week now and not once have we had a wobble or shimmy - nothing - at any speed but a nice comfortable ride. Do you have the chrome rims? That will sometimes make the tire move on the rim -which could throw your balance off. They applied some sort of paste, marked mine and yes the rear tires did move on the rims. But so far it hasn't affected anything. I really honestly think it's your tires.

From my limited knowledge I imagine that it could be the rims. Earlier on in this thread I mentioned that I had a shimmy between 60-65 but after a high speed balance with load applied there was no shimmy...however the tires were rotated at the same time and the right front that I had "curbed" several times the first week I had the car was moved to the left rear. Although the rim shows very little damage from the "curbing" it may have been distorted.

taking the car back in to the dealer monday. i will be giving them a test drive again. i will then mention the rims. yes they are the oem 18 chrome ones. i really hate to have to buy myself new tires due to the company`s sumb mistakes. but i guess if it comes down to it i will.

How well I know that feeling. But the way I look at it, I was spending a lot of time and money driving back and forth to the dealers, leaving my car and a whole lot of time mad as hell over it. Put the tires on there and I'm back in love with my car. I owned the car for exactly 60 days - 20 of which the car spent at the various dealers. That's pretty crappy odds! Keep us posted - I'll be anxious to hear what happens!

What tire pressures are you running? The 300C needs pressures up around 34-35 lbs. to really run out smooth. The wheels need to be balanced at that pressure.

We have over 16,000 members here and very few have had these issues with relatively new cars - until lately. Has Goodyear put out a bad batch of tires? Makes you wonder?

Those so called 18" chrome wheels are actually chrome clad plastic wheel covers bonded to an aluminum wheel. Tap the chrome with your finger, just like the Bentley Continental grille I tapped at the dealer, plastic.

If they are OEM then your tire is mated to the aluminum lip and not chrome (look closely at the lip, bead, and chrome). They are also ridiculously heavy.

My GYs are great (perhaps because the contis were so poor) but the GY stands on it's own merits and I have not had any problems. Not to blow my own twin Italian air horns (remember the video you hosted for this project) but if you recall I was the first (before DCX) to go with the GY ComforTreads in August '05.
