Solution 1 is absolutely fine and the wires are good to take the extra power. The colour is not like HID but definitely its a huge improvement over the standard 60w bulbs. For a few quids its worth it

I have since tried some generic hid ballasts and as expected the warm up from cold is not the same like the OEM low beam.

From cold the flash is weak but when warmed up its bright enough. I will hopefully upload a video or two.

I may replace the generic hids for some oems in the near future

So how come the low beam is instant???...go and have look but don't let the up and down movement fool you, low beams on our cars are instant... well 10 times quicker than full beam hids

Yep, taking one of them back to the breakers for a swap, the ballast is from Lexus. The flash is very strong
