Hidden EVIC menu

Thanks to this Forum I have found the hidden EVIC menu but now I have a question.
I have set it to display the digital speed, how do I lock this in? The arrow key pointing right isn't displayed. Touch any of the menu keys and the display reverts to Compass.

Is it the large digital speedo?
If so, have you tried it yet as it doesn't usually work on the CRD?
You wouldn't lock it in, but just leave it as a display, and let it run.
There is another digital speedo which does work, or at least there is on mine. Stay in the secret menu, when you scroll through the options I think it's the one above the one which shows what your software is. It shows a number of things all on the one display. Look for speed - top left, RPM - top right with other stuff below, I think engine temp.

YES! It is the large digital speedo and it does work fine on my car. So it can't be locked in, that's a shame as I quite like it. It is so easy to accidentally revert it to Compass, something I don't have a great deal of use for in the wilds of Berkshire.
I thank you for your suggestion and I will certainly look at it but I think the read-out will be too small for glancing at.

If you switch it to kph it's useful for driving abroad too.

have you not compared the digital readout to the speedo to see if they're the same? that should confirm that the speedo is right or wrong then you wouldn't need to "lock" the digital readout on the evic and use the speedo

I don't want to use the regular speedo dial, I wanted to use the digital readout. Just a fad, humour me.

It'll stay there until you press a steering wheel button.
