I fitted a similar Chinese satnav unit in Mrs A's Sportage. It's not bad... for the money I paid (150.) The IGo8 navigation is very good although there is no traffic warnings/rerouting.

It's not perfect though. Perhaps the stupidest thing about it is that it lists all phone contacts in numerical order!

Compared to a MyGig it really doesn't cut the mustard.

Thanks for that.

I have an REJ unit so if I was to upgrade to the later MyGig then I would need a corresponding facia - from a facelift - correct ?

Thanks

Yes, I think you would. There a some threads on here on how to do it.

I wouldn't write off the the Chinese unit though. It will probably cost you a lot less than fitting a MyGig to an REJ car and it does give you certain 'extras' as standard. Rear view camera, iPod, and other auxiliary inputs etc. You would need to check that it can be mapped to work with the steering wheel controls too. That was an easy job on the Sportage so the 300 might be just as easy.

That was my thoughts exactly. A cheaper option than updating or buying a newer version of the satnav discs. Plus it has all the extra connectivity. Must say that the existing Satnav is pretty poor.:-(

That looks OK Martin, but be careful of the import taxes

Cheers

Hi Keith

Yeah - its a bit hit and miss with that and knowing my luck it will be hit. Have found their main website - Erisin Car DVD Player, High Quality Autoradio, in Car DVD Wholesale, cheap price Car Stereo Radio. They do ship from the UK so can avoid the duty problems, but at the moment this model is only being shipped from Hong Kong. However, the feedback suggests that they might start doing it from the UK soon.

Also read other 'review's from Andriod world ( or something like that - yeah I know its sad ) and the posts have mixed reviews of the units. Certainly this newer version seems to be more robust than the previous one.

Interesting to see how the GPS will work. I believe it will use both Google ( do you need a permanent connection ? ) or Igo

So might wait to see when they start shipping from UK

Martin

I'm not sure that iGo works on Android. Isn't it Windows only?
