3.5L V6 300 Owners Only-Mileage/Issues

I have a 2008 300 Limited 3.5 which is a company car and I am thinking of buying it from my company in March 2011 when its lease is up. I have had the car since it was brand new and previous to this 300, I had a 2005 300 Touring with the 3.5 which I turned in at 50,000 miles but I inherited that car in 2006 with 6,000 miles all ready on the engine and it used about 1 quart of oil every 2,000-2,500 miles. The 2005 Touring had no other major engine issues but the Limited is a much better equipped car. The 2008 Limited also uses oil and I broke it in real gently for the first 1,000 miles but it still uses about a 1/2 quart between oil changes which are every 5,000 miles but the oil consumption issues is getting BETTER with more miles. I had to replace the "running valve" on the front of the engine at 50,000 miles-no other issues.

The questions are how many miles does your 3.5 Liter have on it and what types of problems have you had-oil consumption, alternator replacement, power steering pump replacement, timing belt issues/replacement, fuel/intake issues, computer issues?

If I buy the car at 70,000 miles, I want to keep it to at least 150,000 miles and I am interested if these engines will go that mileage reliably.

I bought a previous company car, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix SE with the 3.1 engine which I still own (105,000 miles). I bought that car with 49,000 miles in 2004 for $5,200 (deal of a lifetime) and it has been super reliable with excellent gas mileage. It use zero oil between oil changes (Mobil 1 5W-30 once I owned it!) and gets 30 MPG on the highway, although not very powerful.

Thanx.

I have 90,000 miles with no Engine problems at all.
I've heard that you're supposed to change the Timing Belt at 100,000..
I still have my original Battery LOL..
If the deal is good enough I would say do it...

i have 2006 3.5l touring and it just recently passed 77k miles and i also am still on the original battery and have not had any major engine issues. the only issue i had at one point was a very minor oil leak that was fixed right away and never leaked again but as of recently i am dealing with a very strange coolant leak that one point would leak every day and now the car is only running on water and does not leak at all so i know i have to get that checked out...

as for oil consumption, i did notice a couple times that we changed the oil that it had less but turns out that we did not fill it up with enough oil to begin with and since then have filled it up properly during oil changes and have not had any oil consumption issues since then
