22x9 vs 22x9.5

Has anyone ever put on 22x9's on a 300? I've seen alot of 22x9.5's but what about the 9's? And as for the tires, 265/35r22 are very popular on 9.5's, then again what about the 9's?.. I've IM'd a few smart forum members, but i get different answers as well.. I've searched and didn't find the answers.. So, who on this board are running 22x9's and what size tire is recommended, and what are the pro's/con's of this size, also offset as well.. Thanks 300c member's..

I started a thread a while ago with the same question. There are members running 22x9 with the 265/35/22 and they said there were no issues.

Angry 22" TIS-03 w/ 265x35x22 p-zeros -rubbing problems

What a disappointment...I waited close to 7 weeks to get my wheels, finally got them in and mounted and guess what..they rub! The bolt on the upper a-arm got a shaving(not rubbing there) and these tires are still rubbing on the a-arm coming down the backside of the wheels. They only rub when the car is backing up and turning either right or left, like when backing out of a drive way.
Bummer...the company had the tire shop rotote the wheels front to rear, but no help. American Racing wheels sent out a set of TIS-01 and we tired those on the front and wah-la...no rubbing. The TIS-01 is a nice wheel but not what I want, so I am getting a refund.

The tire shop believes that this batch(could be as many as 500 sets of 4) of TIS-03 may have been milled incorrectly and the offset is wrong. When we installed the TIS-01 they appear to stick out of the wheel wells a bit further... different offset or should we say the correct offset as stated by the company.
So my expierence with TIS has know left a bad taste in my mouth, especially after waiting 7 weeks.....I'm stunned that this has happened with such a reputable company...never got a call from a company rep....So they get there wheels back and I'll try another vendor

So if you purchase TIS-03 in 22", be aware that they may rub, and may not be an "exact fit" as stated by TIS.

The only other reason may be because my 300C is nearly 8mo old with 16000 miles and my front springs may have settled some, I compared my to a buddies whom just purchased his 300c a few days ago and installed 22" Ziniks w/Hankooks 265-35-22...my wheel gap appears about 3/8" less than his...could be the tires though.

Good Luck...be sure to buy from a shop that has been in business for some time, incase you have some issues....Mine tire shop is refunding my money.

I have TIS 03's and no problems here. I've also lowered it by 1.5" and only rubbing I get is when I reverse and turn the whole wheel. It's shame that TIS would actually send out rims that are bad and on top of that they should have sent you brand new rims which were not drilled incorrectly. Its not that TIS is "prefect" for the 300C, it's the offset that matters. TIS makes the 22's in a 18mm offset so if you find any other 22x9.5 with a 18mm it might help you out. Good luck!

Hey guys im new to this forum. I got a black 300 a few months ago. My next step is to buy some rims. I really like the look of 22's, but i have been readin everything u guys have been sayin and im gettin worried. Someone said that if i put 22's on i should not drive over 40 MPH. I am lookin into the TIS 03 rims. How do i know before hand if they will fit right, and what are anyones thoughts a body kit?

i have 22's and i fly in my car when i can i open that baby up i have not problems at all. those TIS 03 are a great choice i think any TIS wheel you chose will work out. there rims are meant for this car you can also call them. that might be helpful

YO MOKA967,
My buddy with his Black 300C has the Zinik Z6 Brescia's...they look pretty cool...but not for my Silver C...

I am now considering something in Hyperblack or Hypersilver. Maybe TSW or Mogeti wheels....After having the TIS-03 in 22" it seems like TOO MUCH CHROME with a Bright Silver C....I feel it needs to be toned down a bit.
With Silver or black with Chromelips...Any photos
