toyo tires

any body using the toyo proxes s/t. i wanted the proxes 4 but my dealer can't get them, said he can get the s/ts. using 255/45/20s. toyo's site advertises the s/ts for suv or sport truck use.
thanks!!

I have heard good things about the Proxes S/T. Keep in mind, most tires used on our vehicles are built for SUV's as our vehicles weigh that much
If you want the proxes 4 (even better) go with the 275/40R20 or 245/45R20 those are the closest sizes they make.

I'm runnin' them. They're okay, but like I mentioned a million times, I'd rather do the Toyo Proxes 4 as they're a CAR tire; not an SUV tire.

Cheapest place to get 'em: www.tires-easy.com.

I have the Toyo Proxes 255/45/20's and I guess they are OK. But I find the rears are sloppy on hard turns. Feels like the rubber is rolling off the rims. I am running them at 34lbs. Minimum recommended pressure is 32lbs, so they are not under inflated. I havn't yet tried raising the pressure to see if the sloppy feel goes away.
We had a lot of rain this year and didn't have a problem hydroplaning. So they are OK on wet roads.
Tires are a little noisier than the Conti 18inchers, but I have gotten used to it and don't notice it any more.
The 20" rims and tire package are much more enjoyable than the Conti's. Car handles much better and the bumps/holes are less jarring.
I have 16k miles on the car and I think the suspension is starting to loosen up and the ride is better. I had Hotchkis sways installed about 2 weeks after I got my new rims/tires, but really didn't notice much change in the handling.
Waiting for K&W Variant 2 coilovers to arrive in the next week or so.
Hoping to improve ride/handling even further. But I am actually starting to enjoy the ride/handling, and hope the Variant2's are all they are cracked up to be.

Cool Going with 255/45/20 Toyos

After reading all the posts on 20s vs. 22s. I'm getting my 20s today. I have an 06 300 touring signature (black of course), with a Precision grill, Bentley headlight covers, black smoked taillight covers, black tinted windows, and a full black cherry burl wood dash kit. I'm going with 255/45/20 Toyo tires, and a set of Ultra Wheel chromed Geneva rims (20 x8.5).
I got my 300 on Xmas eve, and have been consistently riding with the heir of Bad Aass we all know this car gives off. I,m not too concerned with losing just a little comfort given that I was driving a mini mid life crisis 04 Mazda RX8 (black ofcourse) before I got my 300. But, I gotta say, If the ride feels like the Mazda. I'll put the stock chrome 17s back on. (especially if the wife complains too much). I'll see if I can get some pics up to see what you guys think after the rims come on.

It has been a pleasure reading the entire discussion on the topic. I'll let you know how my experience turns out with my 20s and Toyos on.

Thanks,
NYCUBAN
