Tire Pressure Sensors

Hi Guys. Still debating the wheel choices, there are one or two choices out there for these cars. Got the choices narrowed down, but just had a thought. What about the sensors for the tire pressure. Can I use the OEM sensor with an aftermarket wheel? And if so, I imagine I will have to have the wheel and tire combo broken back down, the sensors installed in the aftermarket wheels, and then re-mount and re-balance. Just trying to plan ahead so I don't have any unexpected suprises. Thanks in advance.

TPM's

It might be easier and more cost effective to get a second set of sensors to install with your aftermarket rims. You won't run the risk of possibly damaging the factory ones during removal and reinstall. Ebay sells them either single or in sets of four depending on the seller. Prices I've seen so far is from $55-$150. If you go through Tire Rack or other wheel places you may expect to pay a bit more. Good luck

You must make sure that wheels are compatible with the TPM, not all wheels are.

I've always kept my stock wheels when I've upgraded. And out of 4 vehicles, I've always had a need to put stock wheels back on at some point of ownership. If you have space to keep them, its cheap insurance should you every need them.

For the cost of a new set of TPMs vs. having to take them off the OEM wheel, I'd purchase a second set and keep the OEM wheel complete and balanced.

I got my extra set of TPMs from Wycoff. Fast delivery, great deal and a supporting vendor. Ya can't beat that!

You do need to check your aftermarket wheel to see if the TPMs will fit. As stated above, some rims will not fit.

Yes, you have to have them if your vehilce has them installed. You can not disable the EVIC to not let you know that your wheels have no air in them.

I purchased mine for Mopar Superstore, paid $29.500 each plus a little freight. The local 5 star stealerships wanted $49.00 each plus special order charges. List is only like $42.00 each. Also got great service many times from Mopar Supercenter. Great site supporter!!

I don't remember the part# I will find my receipt. I did have to give them my VIN# to get the part#. The local stealerships did the same thing. There must been different models or different frequencies that the units come in. I just e-mailed them the information and they e-mailed me back the part# and price. Hope this helps.
