High Quality Tires for stock 300C

I have GY comfort's on my car, which are light years ahead of the original conti's as far as eliminating steering wheel jerk. They do scare the heck out of me in the we weather, hydoplaning at the drop of a hat at only 60 MPH. I am thinking of stepping up to a real tire like Michelin Pilot Sport MS. I am just not sure how much of the poor wet handling is due to the car itself, and I hate to invest big bucks in tires only to be dissapointed. ANyone have experience putting big money all seasons on their stock 300C rims?

Mine is an EARLY '05 model C, and as such I have had "new" tires on my car for 30,000 miles. The car has 50,500 miles now. I didn't have some of the size/brand choices that are out now. I ended up and am very satisfied with TOYO Proxes/ST 255/55/18. They are a light truck tire, with AA traction and a high treadwear rating (for an all season tire). It is V rated and durable quiet tire. They are wearing like iron with little sidewall degradation and excellent even tread wear. I DO keep my C aligned (once a year, all 4 corners) more than average, I think, but I drive a mix of weather and miles, and almost all moderately aggressively. I've been very happy. All told it was around $1,000 installed...if I remember correctly, it's been awhile. The Goodyear Comfortreads are supposed to be good, too. They weren't out when I needed tires.

-Good luck!
