18 inch wheels for 300 Touring

Hello All. I was just wondering if i put 18 inch wheels on my 300 touring which has 17 inch wheels, will this make any diffrence for the car,and will this affect the milage of the car. sorry fo the newbie question but i'm not very mechanically inclined, Thanks

Your speedo will be off about 2%.
215/65/17 = 28.00 wheel diameter.
225/60/18 = 28.63 wheel diameter
When your actual speed is 65mph the speedometer will read 63.6mph.
This will also effect your gas mileage calculation, making it look like you are getting worse gas mileage.
Your ground clearance will also be about 0.3 inches higher.
One advantage is your speedo miles will be lower than your actual miles, which will lengthen your warranty mileage.

The difference is 2.2% 1 - (63.6mph / 65.0mph) = 2.2%
So if drive 65 miles, your speedometer will show 63.6 miles.
