Thumbs up 20" MC2 'FZ6' Wheels/Toyo 'Proxes' Tires

Chris,

Thanks for the photos. I too have pondered this exact same tire/wheel set-up for my black 300 Touring. Do you possibly have any additional pictures, but showing what your 300C looks like with this tire/wheel package, but still at stock height? Yours looks great, but I wasn't too thrilled about lowering my car as the vehicle height is just perfect for me to get in and out of...another reason for purchasing this vehicle...disabled friendly. I don't like the looks of the stock 17" silver painted aluminum wheels on my car. They might look okay on a silver model, but definitely not on black...needs chrome wheels. The stockers also just look too small for the fender wells, so I'd like to fill them in somewhat without compromising ride comfort by going any larger than 20". Also, how did your stock 300C wheels with Continental tires ride, as I was maybe also contemplating this route temporarily until more 20" tires become available. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Mr.DJ

Mr. DJ, the OEM 18" Contis from the C have a very good ride. They would be a nice upgrade on the touring. Try checking around to some Chrysler dealerships as some customers may have upgraded to the 20" MC2's on delivery. They may have a brand new set at the right price. And there are always a few on E-Bay at any given time.

Thanks Northern Rider,

I've been scouring some dealerships since picking-up my '300 Touring' in December; however, to no avail. These dealerships have all advised me that they never resell them, but actually mount their 'take-offs' on the non-300Cs they sell...as an upgrade to get an extra 'grand' or so from their prospective customers. I continually check eBay, on a daily basis, for 18" OEM Chrysler 300C tire/wheel 'take-offs', and the sets all seem to come in around $850-$900 (plus another $150 or so for shipping); therefore, I'm actually still contemplating of maybe just applying the 'grand' toward a 20" tire/wheel package instead, but I still haven't found what I'm looking for. Without a 'decent' local custom wheel shop in the area, my search has become an even bigger struggle. They all want to sell you the 'crap they have in stock, but not what you're actually looking for and/or want. I really like the appearance of the Sequence SQ-3 wheels, but I don't believe they're available in 20". I also like the MC2 FZ6 wheels, but I'd still like to find them nearby to avoid the additional $150 or so for shipping. I'd just as soon drive toward the LA/Orange County area to buy them and have them mounted, than to have them delivered to my home where I'll be forced to cart them over to a local tire shop to have them mounted. Besides, I'd actually like to see the wheels 'in person', as photos always have a tendency of making items appear much better than what they do in 'real life'.

Does anybody have any contact info for a good 'professional' tire/wheel shop in the LA/Orange County areas...which actually has a good selection of 20" wheels/tires and actually has them in stock? I have contacted the folks at MC2 Engineering, but was advised that they do not sell directly to the 'end user', but rather via 'selected' Chrysler dealerships. Evidently, the Chrysler dealership where I picked-up my car nor the others I've contacted while in search of take-off tires/wheels are in fact MC2 'selected' dealerships, as they've never mentioned this option to me. Please advise, as any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Northern Rider,

I just wanted to thank you for your input and to also let you know that I finally located/bought a 'mint' set of 18" OEM 300C wheels/tires on eBay for $849 (w/ 'free' shipping). I had them re-balanced and mounted onto my '300 Touring' this morning and she looks and drives like a whole new car...thanks.

Glad to hear that. They are a nice looking wheel. That was a great price, as well.

I got a set added at the dealership and the ride is as good as it is with the 17's or 18's. I'm trying to sell tham as I want to go bigger. So let me know if you're interested.

Would 20x8.5 rims (+15 offset right?) with 245/45/20 tires and the eibach sportline kit (which drops 2" front and rear) fill up the wheel well? Thanks for the help guys. Inquiring minds would love to know.
