For what it's worth, I have about 33,000 miles on my '05 300C with stock rims and there's still no sign of any pitting (I just went out and checked). Dunno why my rims still look good (they've seen their share of winter driving here in the Philly area), other than because my ride's midnight blue I have to wash it every week or two.

I guess that's the hidden advantage of a dark color and the needed trips to the car wash!

just got back from the dealer today. he punched up my warranty and said the wheels are only covered under the basic warranty( even though i have the extended gold plan-no deductable). the basic is for 3 years from the transfer date or 60,000 kl. mine has a late 2004 transfer date and even though it has been chrysler dealership owned until september 2007 he says it's not covered because the owner must have put it in his wifes name or something. this is bull**** because i have the motor vehicle transfer package and it shows it was owned by 2 different chrysler dealerships in toronto ontario. anyway i am out of basic warranty by about 3 months so he says no deal. he also told me they quit replacing the wheels because the new ones they were putting on where going bad the following year also. they have been doing them over locally by cleaning them up and repainting the lips with grey paint. now isn't that quality warranty work? i guess i'll just have to do them over myself. i had a similar experience with chrysler warranty with my ram truck for body rust problems after only 3 months of ownership. they wouldn't come good for that either. love the vehicles but their warranty service will eventually kill them
