Just ordered custom Lowenhardt LD-6's 22x9..have questions

The people of Lowenhardt say that the 22x9 is the way to go for my 300C. However, after reading from the site, people say teh 22x9.5 is the way to go. I told them that is the pattern, but they say that the 22 x 9 will work better.

I am paying a lot of dough for the rims, any advice? Should I have them change to 22 x 9.5? Should I do the 18mm offset for both 22x9's and 22x9.5's. I like the wheel to look flush with fender or a little inside. I don't want it too far inside where it looks goofy.

Any help? too many contradictions in the forums. I appreciate the help.

I have the TIS 03 wheels and they're 22x.9.5 with a 18mm and they're pretty much flush with the fender. Because the TIS rim has a 18mm offset I don't get any shaking thus far. From what i've read and what I was told, the 22x9 has to expand more then a 22x9.5 so that will cause the tire to rub againist the upper suspension bolt and theres nothing you can really do if that starts happeaning. This will happean at high speeds and you don't really want your tire rubbing againist the bolt at high speeds. If you have a choice go with the 22x9.5's rather then the 9's because Lowenharts aren't exactly cheap rims so you want the right rims before dropping that kind of money and 18mm will be prefectly fine. I currently have a 1.6" drop with 22's and the only rubbing i've had is if I turn the wheel to far left or right when backing into my garage.

Thanks for your help! One more question.....

Will all rim companies 22 x 9.5 with 18mm offset fit the same? Lowenhardt claims that 22 x 9 is what they use? If TIS and Lowenhardt are put on (with same size and offset), will they look the same.

You are right, very expensive, so want to make sure it's done right. I am more inclinded to change it to 22 x 9.5 with 18mm offset.

Any other ideas? If I was to file down, or cut the last few threads of the screw (just for precautionary reasons), what should I do exactly? What tools? files? Anybody done this yet?

Yes, if the rim is 18mm and 22x9.5 they will fit the same. I've attached a picture of the thread so you get idea how close it is to the tire. Some people on here have tried to reverse the bolt but I don't think that worked out to well. You can shave a thread of the bolt but if you get the right offset and rim you shouldn't have to do this. By the way here's a link to a FAQ for 22's -> http://www.300cforums.com/forums/sho...5421#post35421
