San diego shopping

I have family down in san diego.....is there any places that I can look at for rims and tires? I live up in Canada and will be there at the end of the month and plan on buying down there and shipping home....any suggestions as to where I might find the best deal?
Thanks Garry

Hey Gary, Not sure when you are visiting, but I live in SD and really wouldn't recommend any local wheel suppliers. I have seen several discount shops arround town, but I have questions about their quality. I too am contemplating a wheel swap, and have found the most attractive offers from internet suppliers. I'm not sure if you being from Canada prohibits this option, but if not I would highly suggest it. Just my 2cents, and let me know if I could be of any additional help while you are in town.

I was told by my Chryler dealer that if you are a Canadian resident and buy a car in the States and bring it back to Canada it voids any and all warrantys.
It also will not have daytime running lights and metric conversions.thats what I was told anyway!

If you travel North into Orange County, about 1hr from San Diego I would recommend a shop in Laguna Niguel, Tucker Tires..Great prices and top service, they have been in business over 30 years..same location.
They can get just about any wheel and tire combo in 1 day to the shop.
I purchased a set of TIS-03 with Pirelli p-zeros in 22" and they were nearly $500 cheaper than all others including Internet. Can't say enough good about this shop. Here is ther phone number - 949-364-3225
You would have to call them on shipping these to Canada though...Good Luck.
You might try finding out what you want, then ordering...Most shops don't carry the wheels that fit your car here in SoCal...but they are able to get them if you shop early in the morning by late in the afternoon and have them installed same day. Seems like the distributors are close by in LA. and have same day delivery...

Garry,

I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but I just received a set of OEM 18" Chrysler 300C ('take-offs') which I purchased on eBay for $849 (w/ 'free shipping') from San Diego, CA. The eBay Seller's ID is WheelsForCheap and the contact there is a nice gentleman by the name of Elias Mendoza. His e-mail address is Wheels123@cox.net

My wheels came via a 22" Chrysler 300C custom wheel 'change-over' which he did for one of his customers, so he evidently does operate a tire/wheel business somewhere in the San Diego area. He currently has several sets of take-offs for sale on eBay and if you were to contact him (via e-mail), I'm sure that he could provide you with his business address.

I just finished having these tires/wheels re-balanced (just for my own 'peace of mind') and mounted onto my '300 Touring'. The tires, wheels, and center caps are all in 'mint' condition and I am very pleased that I made the purchase. Besides providing great communication (w/ UPS tracking numbers) throughout the transaction, Mr. Mendoza appears to be a very honest individual. You might want to give him a try, and tell him that you got his e-mail address from the guy he just sold the 300C 'take-offs' to...it couldn't hurt. Good luck with locating your wheels and take care.

I went to TSW, Tire and Wheel Specialists, on Clairemont Mesa Blvd, Willie helped me out. I purchased Dvinci Pasha Chrome 20x9's and tires, they mounted and balanced them as well. They were about $300 less than anyone else in San Diego. They had the wheels in two days after I ordered them. I would highly reccomend them.
