22 inch wheels rubbing in reverse...any solutions?

Hey all,

I just purchased 22 inch Vagare V6 wheels 265/35/22/9.5 w/ Pirrelli Scorpion tires. When I go in reverse I get a slight rub when I turn the steering wheel. When I drive forward I have no problem. I have plenty of clearance. Any suggestions?

You need a spacer to push out the wheel a bit.

it probably won't take much either. just a fraction of an inch usually solves people's problems here on this board.

Question

I've had the same issue for over a year now. I put the stock wheels & tires back on for the winter months. The 22s are back on now since it's sunny again here in Oklahoma.

Will the spacers cause the wheels to stick out from the body line of the car?

Anybody with pictures of the actual spacer and how the wheel aligns with the body with the spacer installed?

yup i got TIS 22" wheels with pirelli scorpion 265/35/22 tires... fine when driving forward... slight rub in reverse turned all the way... i just deal with it... one of those small minor things you deal with when having over sized wheels... shouldnt hurt anything... or like they said... spacers

The spacers are only 3mm, so you won't be able to tell a difference at all. They look kind of like a CD with 5 holes punched around it to put the lugs through. VERY thin. I got mine from Billy Bones and haven't experienced any problems at all at high speeds.

As for pictures, these are the best side angle shots I have of mine to show you what the wheels look like with spacers installed. They are, of course, only on the front wheels:

67 bucks for the pair from Bones Enterprises. As I said, you'll only need them on the front wheels.
